Windows 10 Professional / 64-bit HP xw8600 Workstation / dual 4-core x5492 3.4GHz processors / 32GB RAM
Over the last two years, give or take a little, I've asked this question at least three...
The late response idea sounds like a possibility. I agree that it's difficult to see how the FLAC codec could be involved, especially since all of this happens before one clicks the "Rip" button. On...
It's definitely a problem that we have not encountered before. Not sure, though, where it started in the v. 16.x series of "upgrades."
I wonder if it has anything to do with Illustrate's "beta"...
We have 5 0r 6 HP enterprise-grade workstations running either Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit or Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit. All have at least 16GB of RAM. The machine I am using now is an HP xw8600 workstation...
...when it is configured to auto-hide.
If the Windows task bar is configured to auto-hide when not needed, maximizing the CD-Ripper window blocks the task bar from appearing when the mouse cursor...
dBpoweramp's CD-Ripper is notorious for its issues with column spacing and width settings. Many times, in order to see all of the results, you need to drag the columns you do see all the way to the...
Yes, I understand what you are doing, but regardless of which organization created the 1.3.3. beta version of the encoder. it seems irresponsible not to insist that the "official" FLAC development...
I reported this problem several months ago, and yet it unfortunately still exists. It's not just CD-Text that disappears. CD-ISRC also frequently appears and then disappears. In each case, when this...
Well,I'm willing to turn off CD-Text and see what happens when no other metadata is recovered and the results blank. It's just inconvenient when I have to go back in those cases and THEN explore...
Oh, I am in complete agreement with you about the possibility of finding 'garbage' data in the CD-Text fields. I had addressed that possibility in an early reply to this thread but somehow I lost it...
I never meant to suggest that testing was not done. That said, a bug exists, perhaps as a faulty algorithm.
It makes no sense whatsoever to me that is is reasonable to deselect CD-Text and CD-ISRC...
I first reported this problem on August 30, 2018 and then again on December 4, 2018. Spoon replied on December 5 that they would test it prior to the next update.

That is exactly what happens! If it does happen to you, try selecting "Retrieve Metadata from..." which is the second item on the Menu. Then choose "CD-Text." If that brings back some of the...
Version 16.6: CD Ripper apparently first reads CD-Text and CD-ISRC, then looks for metadata on the web. Not finding anything on the web, it removes the originally found metadata that was on the...
I normally use mp3tag to tag CDs after ripping securely with dBpoweramp. But one of the questions was (reworded for clarity): How does one use dBpoweramp to add tags other than what appears at the...
How does dBpoweramp "decide" which metadata is best? I realize that there are simple ways to "vote" on the available metadata from on-line sources such as discogs, sonata, freedb and so on. But...
Of course you've checked to make sure the discs are clean and not scratched...or have you? Also, are you having problems with commercial CDs, assumed to be manufactured properly, or are you fussing...
What version of the FLAC codec is installed and at what compression level? If it's set to level 5, try resetting it to level 3. I know this sounds crazy, but if this problem occurred recently, it...
This issue appears to be a continuation of a problem that I reported on this forum on 8-30-2018. Metadata sometimes appears temporarily and then disappears. This is not always the case, but it...
I'm running dBpoweramp Reference v.16.5 on a 64-bit Windows 10 Pro workstation. Metadata is not retrieved consistently, especially seeming to ignore CD-Text, CD-ISRC and presumably CD-UPC.
Lately...
I am trying to maintain consistency on 5 windows workstations fitted with dBpoweramp CD Ripper. We have about 8 to 10 users, each requiring at least one user profile on each of these workstations....
I'm not sure how my last post above ended up at this point in this thread. I thought I was replying to a post by Spoon that said this:

Hi Spoon....
The first link above was truncated, i.e. missing some of the text. Can you somehow post the full text of that link? I appears from what you said preceding it that it will remove...
Scenario: Dell 380 with Windows 10, 64-bit; 8GB RAM, New ASUS optical drive; dBpoweramp 16.4.
Roughly speaking, about 3 times out of 5, retrieved metadata would appear in the CD Ripper fields and...
