  1. Re: Looking for advice on glacial, on/off reading pattern with secure ripping

I'm asking a much simpler question. In the ripper setup, if you untick the " use C2 error checking" and then try to rip a CD, does it rip much faster? Your answer above indicates that you haven't...

Re: What is the right way to start?

Agree with mville. Go slow. Get the basics down and ask questions here. We can provide lots of help (but not much when the question is too general). I'd start with making sure I understand which...
  4. Re: Looking for advice on glacial, on/off reading pattern with secure ripping

I don't understand your answer. In your CD Ripper settings, under "secure ripping" options, is the option to "use C2 error detection" ticked or not? If it is ticked, untick it and try ripping a CD....

    Re: SHN Codec Installation problem

You might just want to install foobar2000 and the shn conversion component. You can use this to convert your shn to FLAC without having to mess about with your dbpa installation.
    Install foobar2000...

    Re: HDCD rip settings

Yes, you can use converter with HDCD DSP.
Ive done formal double blind tests (ABX) of a few dozen HDCD disks (known to use peak extend) that I converted with the HDCD DSP compared with a regular...

    Re: HDCD rip settings

I recall that this is because these rips are quieter than normal CDs when ripped with the HDCD DSP. By the way, once your rip with the HDCD DSP and create the 24/44.1 files, you don't need an HDCD...

Re: Need to copy from NAS to usb drive

    1. For a complete copy on another drive, simply copy the files from your NAS to a USB drive. No special software needed. If using a windows computer, you'd "map" the NAS drive to a drive letter (e:...

Re: Importing album details from a previous rip

Why not just rip with the default album/artist names. then when done with that set, open the files using dbpa batch converter, and you can change all the album names and album artist names in the...
  12. Re: Unsolved problem: dBpoweramp can not rip cd's with manufacturing errors

Yes, nothing a ripper can do about this type of mastering (audio) error. Catflap might be able to "fix" any glitches by using some sort of audio editing program on the digital files. Never used it...

  17. Re: Can't seem to get flawless conversions from FLAC or AIFF to MP3

Happy to help. the software is generally easy to use and once setup, one rarely has to change anything. But there is a bit of a learning curve to figure out all the options.
  18. Re: Can't seem to get flawless conversions from FLAC or AIFF to MP3

also, if only happening with this one set of files, check to see if the files may be different bitrates. For example, are some of the source AIFF songs 16/44.1 files and others are 24/48, etc.
  19. Re: Can't seem to get flawless conversions from FLAC or AIFF to MP3

I don't know if this is your issue. But I can confirm that in my gapless files (like live "bootleg" concerts), if I move the playback cursor toward the end of a song (so I can "test" what happens...
  20. Re: Can't seem to get flawless conversions from FLAC or AIFF to MP3

    1. Burst vs Secure ripping shouldn't have anything to do with it. (As an aside, why use BURST? The secure settings automatically use BURST when the rip has an initial match with the AccurateRip...
  21. Re: Can't seem to get flawless conversions from FLAC or AIFF to MP3

Are you using LAME for the mp3 conversion in dbpa? Any DSPs added in the conversion?

Re: CD/DVD Drive Accuracy List 2016

Virtually any CD drive will work fine (that's the entire point of AccurateRip).** Regarding XLD settings, you should ask on an XLD forum. dBpoweramp (this forum's product) does have a Mac version.
