    Re: Genre tagging support

Agree! Although I have a lot of music some might call "Americana", I don't use this as a GENRE name.

    Re: Rip & Write ReplayGain

Yep, not sure myself. Although I suspect most people rip to create bitperfect copies of the CD, then later on use the CONVERTER to create lossy versions with volume modified, etc.

    Re: Genre tagging support

With either 19k or 115k files, the batch processing power of dbpa, and PerfectTunes makes things like adding/deleting/modifying GENRE, STYLE, etc. pretty easy.

    Re: Genre tagging support

and for normal multi-value tags (not sure if style is one), in dbpa, the ";" is what separates the multiple values. For example, with artist in a FLAC file, if you had "Miles Davis; Miles Davis...

    Re: Genre tagging support

not sure. I don't use the style tag. In fact earlier this year I even modified my about 115,000 files to significantly reduce the number of genres I use. I found that simplification was better for...

    Re: Rip & Write ReplayGain

Yes, just add the ReplayGain DSP to be used during ripping and select the "Track and Album" option. Both track and album RG tag fields will be added during the rip and at the end of the rip (for...

    Re: Genre tagging support

I suspect most users of style follow your approach (style as a sub-genre). Some players/servers can use style. I use Logitech Media Server (LMS), i.e., squeezebox players, foobar2000, and Roon, and...

Re: Album Gain Tag Not Written

I assume you let the process completely finish before looking at these files. Album RG tag is not added until the very end. Where are you converting the files to? On the same computer running dbpa,...
  10. Re: I am not getting metadata in the Ripper anymore

Some of the metadata providers went out of business or were purchased and quit licensing their metadata. There are a number of threads on the forum about this back from when it happened. So this...

or just use the disk number as part of the track number, and have all the disks end up in the same folder. Use something like this in the appropriate part of the naming string:

Re: Ripping HDCDs on a Mac

Yep, and FYI, I listen to most of my HDCDs just as normal CD rips. They sound glorious.

Re: Ripping HDCDs on a Mac

As Spoon says, correct, without HDCD DSP ripping, it will show as 16/44.1 rip. My recommendation (and I have lots of Dead) is to rip without HDCD DSP so that you have a bit perfect copy of the CD. ...

Re: No longer can convert MP4 to MP3

AV and HDMI are not file formats. What are you trying to accomplish. Sounds like you need help connecting something rather than converting files.

    Re: Question

All good points. By the way, in mp3tag, to explain a bit more, let's say you have 500 mp3 files, all with good tags. If you then also load up your 500 FLAC files underneath these mp3 files (in the...

Re: Albums not in Accurate Rip Database

But note that if you get even an AR of 2, that means that another person, with a different copy of the CD, ripping it on a different computer, got the same "bits" as you did in your rip. So an AR of...

correct, best you can do if not in AR database is secure rip. I don't think you can check directly whether album is listed in database.
