    Re: Custome fields in AssetUPNP

AssetUPnP already supports ALBUMARTISTSORT - at least for sorting, I haven't tried to display it directly.

I haven't actually seen the Album Artist tag defined in any standard, but I have seen...

    Re: multi-page TIFF files

    ImageMagick can do it.
I primarily use it to build pdf booklets from scans, but it's very versatile.

    "C:\Program Files\ImageMagick-7.1.0-Q16-HDRI\magick" convert...

Re: Another dynamic (?) naming problem

In your example above, without commas used to separate the arguments how would dBpoweramp know which inputs were 2, 3 and 4? Remember, those arguments can contain spaces e.g.

    [IF!EQUALS]album...

Re: Another dynamic (?) naming problem

Commas are used to separate the arguments in functions e.g. [REPLACE]The,,[artist][]

In the above function, 'The' is replaced with '' (as there's nothing specified as the second argument) in the...

Re: various sorts of missing tracks.

It sounds like you have a track that uses multiple index markers. If you were creating CUE sheets as part of your rip you'd see something like:

    TRACK 06 AUDIO
    INDEX 00 28:18:67
    INDEX...

Re: various sorts of missing tracks.

So it's not just the metadata missing, it's the tracks themselves? Interesting. Could you post a screenshot of it in CD Ripper and then maybe an equivalent in EAC/Cue Ripper e.t.c.?

    Are you...
  8. Re: Asset 7.4 on QNAP working strange after Firmware update to 5.0.0.2131

I think it's the only tag format that's supported for FLAC, so yes any tagger should be using Vorbis Comments.

Re: Playing randmon tacks from a sub folder

And 'Shuffle & play' worked correctly? Asset comes with a tonne of default indexes but can be tailored just as MinimServer can.

The cohort of people that use Folder view (which is itself a tiny...
  10. Re: Asset 7.4 on QNAP working strange after Firmware update to 5.0.0.2131

ID3 is a tag format commonly used for MP3, Vorbis Comments is the standard tagging format for FLAC. If you wanted to check, open your files in Mp3tag and look at the Tag column in the main UI, it...

Re: Playing randmon tacks from a sub folder

If we take your starter edition of MinimServer as an example - because it's a bit less cluttered - it offers default indexes of:

    n Albums
    n Items
    n Playlists (if any exist)
    * Artist
    * Date
    *...

Re: Playing randmon tacks from a sub folder

Correct, it just appends it to Artist on the Now Playing screen, as I suggested.

I've been using MinimServer for at least 8 years now, but only seriously when I started ripping my collection...

Re: Playing randmon tacks from a sub folder

BubbleUPnP has the option (Now Playing: Show Composer) to display the Composer next to the Artist on the now playing screen, but it doesn't show it in the track listing like Hi-Fi Cast does.

    One...

Re: Playing randmon tacks from a sub folder

I've used Hi-Fi Cast before and have just reproduced your findings, it just doesn't want to enqueue songs from a higher level folder with Asset (it does however work at any level using tag view)....

Re: Playing randmon tacks from a sub folder

I assume you mean that you haven't configured anything in MinimServer, as there is A LOT that can be.

MinimServer doesn't offer any shuffle functionality natively so it must be your control point...
  16. Re: simple iOS control app for controlling ChromeCast access/playback of content?

The extra step is essential for Chromecast devices to make them DLNA/OpenHome compatible, but the Lumin control point itself only talks to OpenHome renderers (because their hardware is all OpenHome),...
  17. Re: simple iOS control app for controlling ChromeCast access/playback of content?

Remember I said that it works with any OpenHome renderer; You'd need to use BubbleUPnP Server to add that functionality to your renderer.

I've just had a look and there's really not many options...
  18. Re: simple iOS control app for controlling ChromeCast access/playback of content?

Lumin works with any UPnP music server and any OpenHome renderer, and is purely audio. On the ios side you seem to be quite limited with generic UPnP control points and from what I've heard on other...
  19. Re: simple iOS control app for controlling ChromeCast access/playback of content?

Isn't that how AirPlay works as well?

BubbleUPnP Server is a piece of software that can add features to servers and renderers alike, whereas 'BubbleUPnP' is a control point for Android.

    With...
  20. Re: simple iOS control app for controlling ChromeCast access/playback of content?

What are you currently using to send music from AssetUPnP to Chromecast?
The problem - as you probably know - is that it isn't DLNA/UPnP so there are very few apps out there that will talk directly...
  21. Re: Encountered 'FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_SEARCH_FOR_FRAME_SYNC' in FLAC File

    I'd try verifying them individually.

Assuming you're on Windows download flac, extract it, then copy the 'flac-1.3.4-win\win64\flac.exe' into a new folder where you'll test some of your flacs....
  22. Re: Encountered 'FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_SEARCH_FOR_FRAME_SYNC' in FLAC File

How long has it been since you've accessed these files be it for listening, converting, tagging etc as that's a lot of files to have suffered from data...

The easiest way I know to create playlists for all your albums (one per directory) is to use Mp3tag.

Re: CD Ripper Cannot Open CD Tracks

If you were having problems with all discs then you'd typically try another rip after booting into Windows safe mode, but you haven't said it's all discs, so I assume this won't make any difference....
  25. Re: How to prevent "Encoding Tool" tag written to encoded files?

It feels like that option would only prevent it from being updated, so do your source files have the tag - I say that knowing you shouldn't be converting lossy to lossy but I haven't been able to...
