I did find a workaround. Just create the folders you need and put a small text file in each as a placeholder. Then be sure to include each text file in your install directory.

Thanks for that info! I am about to switch over to ubuntu 8.10 myself and was checking for ways to make what I consider my "core" apps work (if no Linux version exists).
