Stick by your guns and invoice the client for the work done. Nowadays, the misunderstanding of digital audio technology and/or pc platform ignorance is very common. What your customer is claiming is...

It looks to me like his rips are adding +6dB and so doubling the amplitude.

    Re: Quality question at FLAC

    I have 3 questions:

    1. Are you definitely ripping to the flac format?
    2. Are you definitely getting accuraterips (you stated accurate)?
    3. You are NOT using any DSPs, when ripping?

    If you...

    Re: Still confused about offsets

I'm sorry too, but you have no idea what I am thinking and it is this sort of assumption that makes troubleshooting these issues so difficult, in the forum format.

    Have you tried using different...

Please can you specify which software players you are using on the phone and the mac? Perhaps you can try different (gapless) player software?

NOTE: If you are happy editing the windows registry, remember to backup the registry, before editing.

Re: Stopping 'TOTALTRACKS' tag being written?

What file format are you ripping to? Does it still get written if you write to a different file format?

Re: Stopping 'TOTALTRACKS' tag being written?

In: CD Rpper > Menu > CD Ripper Options > Meta Data & ID Tag

tick the Track number without track count option. FYI, this option is NOT a recent option.
  15. Re: Rewrite tag values using manipulation rules - possible?

    Try this:
ID Tag Update R5 > Manipulate tab > Rule Based Manipulation, add the following:
    IF Album=[anyvalue]
    SET Album=[GRAB]1,4,[album][][RIGHT]2,[album][]

They haven't gone, it's just that iTunes is not able to display them all.
  17. Re: Conversion Errors, Speed and Performance Issues

Security/Anti-Virus software is often the culprit in these circumstances.

I have Malwarebytes free v.4.0.4 installed, but use it only for manual scanning, without the real-time protection..

  18. Re: Conversion Errors, Speed and Performance Issues

Boot to the original system in safe mode, try a batch conversion again and report your findings.
  19. Re: A little help converting FLAC files, please.

I suspected as much, as it is a bootleg and not an official CDDA.
  20. Re: A little help converting FLAC files, please.

Are you only getting gapless playback issues with the Yes bootleg discs?
