Re: dBpoweramp Music Converter R14 Discussions

I've now tried R14 with gap detection & cue sheet, because up to now I've used dBpoweramp for ripping and eac to create the cue sheet for me.

But I'm missing the option to set the type of cue...

Re: Ripping Speed Slow with C2 Pointers on

"Read into Lead-in or Lead out" should only be checked if the drive overread is lead in + lead out or the dive has got a negative read offset + lead in or a positive read offset + lead out. In these...

Re: dBpoweramp Music Converter R14 Discussions

Does this version support gap detection already?
If so I'd run some tests for sure...
  4. Re: Ripping is slow (4x) and C2 error pointers will not work...

Sorry to revive this old post.
I think I found the C2 error problem of these BD drives.
I've exchanged my motherboard to a newer one that supports AHCI.
While on the old motherboard that did not...
  5. Re: Ripping is slow (4x) and C2 error pointers will not work...

Well the HL-DT-ST: BDDVDRW GGC-H20 is a drive I definitely would not use to rip my entire collection. I've a lot of different drives around and did a quick test with all the drives. Audio ripping...
  6. Re: Ripping is slow (4x) and C2 error pointers will not work...

Thanks for the info. I did test all my drives with cache for FUA support within dbpoweramp. Did not know that it should (to be on the safe side) only be activated for (true) Plextor drives.
    But...

  8. Re: Ripping is slow (4x) and C2 error pointers will not work...

I've got the HL-DT-ST BDDVDRW GGC-H20L as well. In my tests it shows that FUA is supported. Try to test/activate FUA for this drive, then it should be a bit faster. In general this dive is not very...
  9. Re: Seeking Guidance/suggestions for ripping 300 CDs

Yes, I rip in dbpoweramp and then create the cue sheet in EAC. The importance is that you use the "Multiple Files With Gaps (Noncompliant)" type of the four possible cue types. If you click it, eac...
  10. Re: Seeking Guidance/suggestions for ripping 300 CDs

I tried to make a dir structure that matches most the physical structure I used for my CD collection in the shelf. There I had very broad genres and within these I sorted alphabetically by...

Write offset for CD Writer / accuratewrite

Would be cool if a future version of the dBpoweramp CD Writer would support the setting of the write offset. Accuraterip stores the read offset, maybe it could be extendet to store the write offset...

Re: Rip copies that can be burned as original

    Hi sjmac,

I did some testing: If the write offset is not set correctly, the CD will be recognized but will not match with accuraterip (red cross). I tested a CD that has got non zero samples...

Re: Rip copies that can be burned as original

If you are ripping to individual files the most correct cue in eac is:
Create cue sheet - Multiple Files With Gaps... (Noncompliant)
If you do so EAC will also Detect the gaps automatically and...

Re: CD/DVD Drive Accuracy List 2008

And I was wondering why a CD I test-ripped did not appear later on in accuraterip. Does this mean that even if all drives on a computer are correctly configured the submission is dropped by...

Re: Two Drives with Different Results

Is the problematic drive used a lot?
If so maybe the lens got dusty and therefore you get reading problems.
A car radio of mine once could not read CDs very well anymore - after cleaning it worked...

Re: Two Drives with Different Results

How 'bout not setting the speed to max?
With faster ripping speeds the likelyhood of errors increases.
The Plextor runs quite a bit faster then your other drive when setting both to Max.

    H2cdimage for Audio CDs?

There's a great program to recover damaged data CDs/DVDs:

    Re: Drivespeed Plextor PX-W1210S

About 1% of the drives in the accuraterip database are Plextor SCSI drives. Maybe 1% is not that much (would be 10 out of 1000 people) but these drives also have got a unique set of features almost...

    Re: Drivespeed Plextor PX-W1210S

Just tested the PlexWriter 40/12/40S and the same problem. Seems as if the drive speed of no Plextor SCSI drive can be set in dbpoweramp :(
The PlexWriter 40/12/40S was the last SCSI drive by...
