  1. Has Music Brainz been delayed/slow for anyone else?

For the last couple of days Music Brainz is the last database CD Ripper is trying to access and it will be stuck on Music Brainz query for about 3 minutes, then finally pulls the metadata from them....
  2. Re: Could a CD from 1986 be defective by design?

Rips fine as in it sounds alright when playing the FLAC files, ie there are no pops, clicks, etc.

Defective by design doesn't generate a log, at least one that I am able to see. And if it says...
  3. Re: Could a CD from 1986 be defective by design?

There is no AccurateRip entry for this disc so it goes to Ultra Secure then does 6 passes of ripping and then says "re-ripping 5000 frames".
  4. Re: Could a CD from 1986 be defective by design?

The disc appears pristine and this occurs with two different copies of the exact same album, I got it exchanged with the seller that had some old stock. This is the CD in question:
  5. Could a CD from 1986 be defective by design?

This is a 1986 Pro-Arte classical CD, I'm unsure where it was pressed, it is Made in Japan. Might be Denon or JVC pressing.

It's unable to be ripped in standard settings in dbpoweramp's Secure...

Submitting tags now that freedb is gone?

"Submit changes to" -> Freedb is greyed out now that they've shut down.

Is there any other way to submit tags, ie to CTDB for instance?

Re: When submitting better tags to FreeDB

Someone on another forum suggested a way to "trick" Freedb by submitting better tags is to select the "misc" genre (or a genre slightly different from the actual genre) then submit the tags. I know...
  8. Two inaccurate rips with dbpoweramp on different drives, fine in EAC?

I ripped a new CD (no marks on the disc, looked at it under a bright light) using dbpoweramp on two different laptops. In both cases the last track came up inaccurate. But ripping it in EAC produced...

When submitting better tags to FreeDB

How does it know to overwrite what is already on the database? Or does it create a new entry/option when the next person rips the disc to use either the old tags or the ones I submitted?

    Tab switching in ID Tags

Can we get the ability to use tab to switch between fields when editing tags? This is just second nature for me to use tab instead of the arrow keys.

Re: How do you submit tags to a database?

    This worked great! Thank you.

There is some really bad classical tagging on FreeDB. In general I find GD3 and MusicBrainz to be superior when it comes to classical.

    I am guessing because...

Re: How do you submit tags to a database?

This says submitting to AccurateRip database (which I believe is set to do automatically after certain amount of time), this will also upload the metadata tags?

How do you submit tags to a database?

I'm ripping some newer classical box sets where there are no tags. As I edit them in CD Ripper how do I submit them to the databases so others have access to them?
  14. Re: can PerfectTunes pull tag info from discogs?

Is there a chance of this being added in the future? Because I have nearly a thousand classical CDs I've already ripped using the inferior tagging in freeDB with EAC, and it would be easier to just...
  15. Re: can PerfectTunes pull tag info from discogs?

What metadata databases does it have access to? This isn't mentioned in the product page.
