  1. Re: Sometimes the CD turns out all accurate despite some spots/smudges

It is worth cleaning them first as the ripping time may be reduced and occasionally smudges will cause errors.
  2. Re: Track artists not showing properly in Cambridge Audio's StreamMagic app for Andro

Unfortunately there are no real standards for which tags should be supported and it is very common for otherwise extremely competent players to be limited by the software and apps.

Re: CD driver not on completely flat surface

Couldn't agree more Gary, and as a language lazy Brit I regularly find non-native English speakers' command of the language (Dat Ei is definitely included :thumbup:) truly humbling.

Re: Minor Cosmetic Bug With 17.1

On the main page the box for Year is too small for the full date so the last digit, in this case the 3 from 2009 11 03 cannot be displayed unless you shift the date left. You then lose the first...

    Re: Compilations Option Questions

Agree with Gary that there is no one right way of doing this.

As my wife has a vast amount of comps, I actually use Album Artist OST for Soundtracks, so displays all Soundtracks together. It works...

Re: Initial Caps on file names after ripping

Yes you can set it up to work when you rip (encode) your CDs.

Add ID Tag Processing - Manipulation - Capitalization. Then you have a choice of:

    All Lowercase
    All Uppercase
    Capitalize First...

    Re: Using EQ vs Gain

As Gary has mentioned, ReplayGain only writes only a tag, leaving the file bit perfect - this is the one many of us use. I highly recommend you keep a bit perfect master file and backup - especially...

Re: Tune Fusion with Carplay and file types

I used batch converter to move FLAC files to USB sticks, embedding the art at a maximum of 600 x 600 KB and 250 file size. This works very well on my Pioneer car unit except for the track order...

    Re: Album Art

To display on the Pioneer, try embedding the cover art with a maximum pixel size 600 x 600 KB and maximum file size of 250.

After experimenting, these are what I needed to do to get art to display...

    Re: Free

    Low,

I think Gary and Mike have eloquently explained why dBpoweramp isn't free.

Having now ripped 1,000s of CDs over the last few years and previously used iTunes and EAC, I would say that if...

Re: ID Tags, Album Art file size.

Thanks Spoon, pleased to see this in R17 Beta where it has already saved some time.

Are there any plans to add this functionality to R16?

Interesting to know Gary. All seems good with the Squeezebox Touch, but I probably had later firmware before trying level 8.

    Re: Flac compression level 5

I use a laptop with a basic Celeron processor and have had no issues either encoding, or decoding using level 8.

All friends and work colleagues that I know of use the default setting, except one...

Re: ID Tags, Album Art file size.

    Thanks Dat Ei,

mville, I do use ID Tag Processing DSP to reduce file size, but to be able to it with a simple right click in the editing software, will save time and make a very good programme...

Re: ID Tags, Album Art file size.

Yes, I'm also on Windows 16.6 and have 300 KB checked and this works as intended in CD Ripper. However, if you right click with dBpoweramp Edit ID-Tags, there is no option for file size and the...

Re: ID Tags, Album Art file size.

I haven't had a look at the R17 Beta yet to see if this is available there, but file size would definitely be very convenient for me (and a work colleague) alongside pixel size in ID Tags in R16.

  21. Re: for Classical music lovers: how did you classified?

I'm afraid this is where you need to check what has been entered by the providers as different people see Performer as Artist and others Composer as Artist. CD Ripper is simply doing exactly what you...
  22. Re: for Classical music lovers: how did you classified?

I totally agree about trying which tags work with your player / app. I also don't use Style, though in the example in my previous post TIT1 is, Style and it is populated as I accepted whatever the...
  23. Re: for Classical music lovers: how did you classified?

    Some great advice from schmidj.

    Hi DeleterMann and PGT,

Yes, getting the tagging right for Classical music is unfortunately tricky as really there are no standards and if you ask five people...

    Re: complete lower case naming?

As mville mentioned, using the ID Tag Processing DSP effect lowercase will give you what you want, but what you see from the metada providers will probably not reflect this - WYSIWYG does not apply.
  25. Re: Can't configure Accuraterip with SATA adaptor

I've used a Lindy USB 2 without problems for the last three years. It works perfectly for both IDE and SATA.
