Re: possible bug in the AccurateRip DB

The cross check with dbp was already on my todo list ;-)

And it seems in fact that the problem lays at EAC's side, though one can see an anomaly at tracks 39 and 45 (taking the 2nd CD which log's...

Re: possible bug in the AccurateRip DB

Well I guess it's quite clear that it cannot be a HDD issue, since the WAVs are bitwise identical,... the likeliness of and HDD error actually correcting the data to be the same again is basically...

possible bug in the AccurateRip DB

    Hey Spoon.

While this happens with EAC 1.0 beta 4, it may also be a bug in the AR DB itself, so maybe you can have a loot the the issue below:

Attached you'll find 3 EAC logs with both...
  5. better slow or fast read speeds? better CLV or CAV?

Hey. This is mostly for CDs for which there is neither a AccurateRip or CTDB entry (or only one that differs)[0] The tests below were also made with EAC (yes I know that here is dBpoweramp ;-) ......
  6. Re: does CD Ripper use/report C2-errors even when Accurate Rip is enabled and availab

Anyway,... dbp's behaviour seems to be bogus here.

If C2 reports errors, then something *is* fishy, whether AR says fine or not,... perhaps with the exception of drives that simply report bogus C2...
  7. Re: does CD Ripper use/report C2-errors even when Accurate Rip is enabled and availab

So basically the only solution here is to disable AR for such disks (and perhaps for disks with a low confidence) by disabling "Query Ripping Results with Accurate Rip", right? Can't you add a...
  8. Re: does CD Ripper use/report C2-errors even when Accurate Rip is enabled and availab

Sure... unfortunately I'm just looking for that specific situation... maybe @Spoon can tell whether it would still report C2 errors or trust my own (possibly wrong) AR result.

    Actually things may...
  9. Re: does CD Ripper use/report C2-errors even when Accurate Rip is enabled and availab

    Unfortunately this is not guaranteed.

I have for example some very rare CDs where I'm the only one who submitted to AR.
I did this back then with EAC and with C2 disabled,... so it may be the...
  10. does CD Ripper use/report C2-errors even when Accurate Rip is enabled and available

Hey. Just wondered: When usage of AccurateRip is enabled (and data is available for the respective CD), will CD Ripper still show me if it would find C2-Errors (even if the data verifies against...

    Re: miscellaneous questions

Perhaps one last question for now: I just compared my dbp version 12 registry values with those I'd have set now up for dbp 15.2. In both versions I've had CacheFUA disabled, but while in 12.x dbp...

    Re: miscellaneous questions

Well the CD has a HTOA of 2 secs and a few frames... nothing valuable,... but e.g. EAC extracts it... The hdcd.exe from the link I wrote above (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1044539) has:...

    Re: miscellaneous questions

Well dbpoweramp and EAC both show a HTOA (even if it's just 2 seconds) and EAC also extracts it. It doesn't really contain any "valuable" audio, it was just the test CD I've had at hand. And the...

    Re: miscellaneous questions

No you didn't get me right ;-)
The hdcd.exe you ship with dbpoweramp is different (byte-wise) from the one at the original link... is that a newer/older version?

    Some more questions:

    I've...

    Re: Ripping HDCDs: Best practices?

    Hey.

Any new developments here? In especially with regards to a decoder which scans the whole image, correctly identifies the used features and decodes as/if appropriate? My "strategy" would be...

    Re: miscellaneous questions

Spoo,... I've thought dbp would use the hdcd.exe from http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1044539 but apparently these files differ... So... what's the difference? =)

    Re: miscellaneous questions

Well it's a PX-760A ... any experience whether this would apply to that? hmm I see, but when I simply disable the HDCD plugin I should be able to get a 16bit rip from a HDCD, right? If I rip to...

    miscellaneous questions

    Hi.

Some miscellaneous questions about CD Ripper:

    1) In principle I'd like to set a maximum drive speed (i.e. the one in the CD-ROM section),... I have time and AFAIU slower = more secure.
    So...

    Re: msvcr100.dll and wmvcore.dll missing

    msvcr100.dll and wmvcore.dll missing

    Hey.

On a fresh Windows 8.1 professional installation, I continuously get errors from codec setup routines (and from within CD Ripper when selecting WMV) about these missing libraries.

    Any...

AAC / gapless playing / iPod

    Hi.

Perhaps someone might help me with these questions, thanks in advance.

I'd like to use AAC as main codec for all my music on the ipod, but there are some problems with gapless playback.
    It...
