  1. Re: dbpoweramp Sometimes, But Not Always, Doubles The Stored Rating

I just emailed the same example file from my screenshots.
  2. Re: dbpoweramp Sometimes, But Not Always, Doubles The Stored Rating

The issue has to do with stored lyrics in the tag. If I remove the lyrics, dbpoweramp displays the rating properly. If I re-add the lyrics, it displays the rating incorrectly again as 10.
  3. Re: dbpoweramp Sometimes, But Not Always, Doubles The Stored Rating

This actually has happened to me quite a bit with many files.

Here is the particular file in Tag&Rename:

    2639

Here is the tag info shown in a hex editor:

    2640
  4. Re: dbpoweramp Sometimes, But Not Always, Doubles The Stored Rating

This is how it is currently set in my options. I have never changed this:

    2638

This is the latest reference version of 16.6.
  5. dbpoweramp Sometimes, But Not Always, Doubles The Stored Rating

I have most of my audio files containing a rating within the tags. The rating is stored as an integer from 1 to 5. dbpoweramp will sometimes multiply this value by two. It does not always do this...

    Re: Monkey's Audio Verification Errors

Monkey's Audio has well known limitations supporting any audio format greater than 16-bit 48KHz. For high def audio, you are better off using FLAC or anything else other than Monkey's Audio.
  7. Re: Would Someone Please Confirm That Bit Depth Only Makes Changes When Needed?

Thanks for the info. This will be a time saver for the next time I need to do this batch conversion.

As for Tune Fusion, I will try it out to see if it helps my situation. My library has a lot...
  8. Would Someone Please Confirm That Bit Depth Only Makes Changes When Needed?

I have a whole bunch of FLAC files that I convert to M4A for my car. It's over 100 files to convert. Some are 16-bit 44.1kHz files that convert easily. However, some are 24-bit FLACs that I must...

Re: FLAC 1.3.2 Vs FLAC 1.2.1

Unfortunately, FLAC is currently frozen at version 1.3.0 in the latest dbpoweramp, and these two fixes above are probably worth the version upgrade.
  10. Explorer Tooltips Shows Audio Quality Low For Highest Possible M4A Audio FIles?

I have converted FLAC files to M4A using the latest available FDK AAC encoder. Here are the settings I used:

    2090

When I mouse over files converted with the above settings, this is what the...

    Re: PerfectTUNES Trial Issues

Just an FYI on another issue I ran into--

Under 64-bit Windows 10, PerfectTUNES does not uninstall properly with Windows' Add or Remove Programs. The issue is that PerfectTUNES is expecting...

    PerfectTUNES Trial Issues

I have been using another batch tag editor that is missing one feature that I need. For my m4a audio files, I need the ability to store ID3 tags to these files. My current batch tagger will only...
  13. Re: Multiple CPU -> Maximize Throughput (Music Converter)

I had performed this additional test based on your response in regards to Windows prefetch. Media data have no relation to Windows prefetch, and it has not been disabled on my system. ...
  14. Re: Multiple CPU -> Maximize Throughput (Music Converter)

Rebooting to clear cache makes a major difference. If you did not reboot after your initial conversion, your test was invalid (as I stated above).

I just re-executed this test without rebooting...
  15. Re: Multiple CPU -> Maximize Throughput (Music Converter)

BTW, I am running 64-bit Windows 7. My testing took over four minutes for the fastest conversion. Even if flac.exe is being used and exists in prefetch, do you really think that milliseconds of an...
  16. Re: Multiple CPU -> Maximize Throughput (Music Converter)

Fair enough. As long as the developer is aware of exaclty what you were requesting, because I was not until I all these additional responses.

No one typically responds to these items. Unless...
  17. Re: Multiple CPU -> Maximize Throughput (Music Converter)

I get what you're suggesting. It's not that simple, unfortunately. If Spoon was to make performance changes based on hardware assumptions, we might end up with another case of limiting conversions...
  18. Re: Multiple CPU -> Maximize Throughput (Music Converter)

I did a quick batch conversion test, and I did see a single file batch conversion did outperform simultaneous conversions only when converting three extremely large files. I had three WAV files of...
  19. Re: Multiple CPU -> Maximize Throughput (Music Converter)

Interesting comment. What was the time difference with a single file conversion versus multiple file conversion from FLAC to ALAC for the multi-file conversion to complete? I'd be surprised if a...

    Re: Adjusting bitrate over time

I'd use an audio editor to split the WAV up into multiple files. Seperate the spoken portions from the music. Convert each invidivual WAV as you like. Create an m3u to play them in the correct...
  21. Re: Why Doesn't Batch Converter Delete Files On Occasion?

Okay -- Figured out what the problem was. It's Windows Media Player holding a lock on the file. When I was editing this file in Sound Forge, I played it in WMP to listen to to it. When you close WMP,...
  22. Re: Why Doesn't Batch Converter Delete Files On Occasion?

Hmm. After deleting the file, I clicked another folder in Explorer, then clicked this same folder once again. The file returned in Explorer and actually was not deleted.
  23. Why Doesn't Batch Converter Delete Files On Occasion?

I have run into this issue not very often, but it happened again just moments ago. I am running dbpoweramp Reference 14. When I run batch converter, I use the following two DSP effects:

    Delete...

    Re: DLNA network storage

I do agree -- RAID is not a backup.

I still believe that it is a requirement for anyone with multiple drives running that depent on the data across these drives. 6TB is a lot of data. I hope...

    Re: DLNA network storage

Okay -- so how do I backup over 10TB of data? I'm all ears. I guess I will not be backuping up. Redundancy is good enough for me. Also, if you review this thread, no one stated that RAID was a...
