    You could try CDBurnerXP which supports numerous formats including flac https://www.cdburnerxp.se/en/features

    Ignore the XP in the name as I think it supports Windows 10.

    Have you selected the option to skip the finish message once the conversion has completed? To find it you need to click on the Options button that is on the conversion progress window.

    I have just had my broken iPod Classic 160GB repaired by the addition of 512GB Flash memory. I hope to install Rockbox followed by my music files. I will let you know how I get on.

    I currently use a Sansa Clip+ with Rockbox installed that allows me to use a microSD of 128GB. Rockbox can support a large number of audio formats.

    The CD Ripper can only rip a single track at a time. I usually find that whilst one core is encoding one track another is ripping the next.

    ALAC files should be created as m4a files. Have you checked your iTunes settings with regards to how it transfers the files to your ipod?
