Re: New PC CD reader not compatible?

Just keep trying with popular CDs. Sometimes one can get the drive setup for AccurateRip with a single CD. Sometimes it takes trying 15 or 20 different CDs. Just keep trying....
  2. Re: CD Ripper best sound quality, lossless Level 5 vs uncompressed

He shouldn't hear any difference (given that all these FLAC files are decoded back to the same lossless audio), unless something is very broken with his server/player!
  3. Re: CD Ripper best sound quality, lossless Level 5 vs uncompressed

correct. No reasonably modern player (last 15 years) would have any issues whatsoever.

Re: How can I switch to the Windows version?

Yes, I suspect WMA doesn't work with Mac version (and your reference confirms this). I was only pointing out that WAV files can likely be converted with the Mac version. @spoon will have to address...

Re: How can I switch to the Windows version?

Do you mean WMP Lossless files (rather than WAV). I suspect the MAC program can convert WAV files.

Re: ALAC vs FLAC file sizes

Yes, if you set the FLAC encoding at 5 (it can do uncompressed or level 0 to 8, with "8" the most compressed), then the file size would be smaller than uncompressed ALAC. No matter what of course,...

Re: ALAC vs FLAC file sizes

I'm not an ALAC user, but are you sure that ALAC has an "uncompressed" setting like FLAC. I've never seen this mentioned. But unrelated to this, you should pay attention to the fact that FLAC files...
  8. Re: Genre duplication issue in CD ripper (Alternative Rock)

Yep, without being ticked, it's not writing that tag. So you can ignore on the CD ripper window.
  9. Re: Genre duplication issue in CD ripper (Alternative Rock)

Untick the "style" item in the "CD RIPPER OPTIONS" > TAGS AND FILENAMES > METADATA and ID TAG (option button)
Then style won't be written to the tags. I agree, it is often wildly wrong!
  10. Re: I want to re-rip my cd collection but use the current metadata/tags

not with dbpa as far as I know. But you can with "mp3tag" (works with FLAC, etc. not just mp3). Load up old files, in album/track order. Then load new rips in SAME album/track order. Select...
  11. Re: Transfer EAC Lifetime (GD3) license from dying laptop?

Perhaps I'm missing something, but this forum is for dbpoweramp not EAC.
  12. Re: Software for playing flac filds with wsindows 64-bit

not sure. Do not use ASSET. Sorry.
  13. Re: Software for playing flac filds with wsindows 64-bit

    foobar2000 for windows.
  14. Re: Dynamic Naming problems - Windows 10 conflict?

Regarding the automatic starting of dbpa for ripping, Windows has a setting as to what to do when you insert a CD. You told it do nothing, but you seem to want it to start dbpa. You will need to...

Re: Dynamic Naming Problems in 17.3

this produces his desired outcome for me. (but very strange that his system is instead creating a "directory" with the file name info and then within that directory creating a file called "flac"...

Re: Dynamic Naming Problems in 17.3

Something is odd. It is certainly not a general problem with dbpa, as it's not affecting me or users I know, and I suspect there would be hundreds of posts if this was widespread. (You're the first...

Re: Dynamic Naming Problems in 17.3

seems like the "\flac" at end of file name should be ".flac" (the file extension for file type). Do these oddly named FLAC files play in your player????

Re: Dynamic Naming Problems in 17.3

You still haven't done this: Another thing you could do is put a compilation CD in your ripper, then WITHIN THE SET NAMING OPTIONS click on the "current CD metadata" in the naming screen and post...

Re: Dynamic Naming Problems in 17.3

strange. it seems to be working correctly regarding putting things in the "various artists" folder, except this shows it is adding a separate "flac" directory at the very end. Or is it adding "\flac"...

Re: Dynamic Naming Problems in 17.3

odd. testing on my machine the naming string works. But I'm not using multiencoder. In multiencoder you have to set the naming string for each encoder in separate places (from what I read).
