Sorry to ask perhaps an obvious question, but where can I download the 4.2.1 beta from to install over my registered 4.2 version? I too experience the performance issues referred to.

Re: Asset UPnP for Raspberry pi

Updated the 10th February build here.. all went well.. database didn't need rebuilding. Rescan of CIFS mounted NAS is noticeably quicker. Still sounds great on my Naim equipment.

Maccaa -yes it was immediately apparent on restart - there was some database corruption such that no albums were visible in the album directory - but all tracks could be selected individually -...

Re: Asset UPnP for Raspberry pi

A quick note to say, I had .dBpoweramp database issues when I upgraded, so I had to delete it; rm -r ~/.dBpoweramp and restart AssetUPnP, reapply config and all ok. (And of course beta trial duration...

    Simon
Very, very good - I'd be interested in reading the feedback of a non techie - it all appears clear to me - but then I guess I am not a great reference.
BTW being (very) picky - on page 4 the...

Re: Asset UPnP for Raspberry pi

Guys, just did some brief none exhaustive tests on my Pi using CIFS mounts and full duplex 100Mbps UTP copper Ethernet links between devices. The switch used was an 8 port Cisco 2960. The network...

Re: Asset UPnP for Raspberry pi

Simon, as far as I understand it, the Ethernet over mains (and certainly most wifi) setups operate at half duplex, with directional collision detection, or perhaps with Ethernet over mains some sort...

Re: Asset UPnP for Raspberry pi

Simon - we said those ethernet over mains devices were suspect ( and are awful for hifi and RFI as well - but thats another matter) - its good you have now proved they are the limiting factor.

Re: Asset UPnP for Raspberry pi

Hi Dunc, although the additional RTD imposed by a switch is minimal, it does occur. TCP throughput is affected by TCP send/receive window sizes, network bandwidth and RTD. Typically the larger the...

Re: Asset UPnP for Raspberry pi

Dunc, interesting write up on TCP buffer sizes to optimise the TCP windowing on the Pi, However I didn't follow your point about adding another 'buffer' with another switch. TCP is at layer 3. A...

Re: Asset UPnP for Raspberry pi

Hi Dunc, it might be with checking your cables in and out of your 'suspect' switch. If there is a faulty cable or a faulty connection on the switch it could be working at half duplex as opposed to...

    Simon,
This might becoming slightly like repeating the Naim forum, I too have no problem playing 192/24 WAV files (on a CIFS mount). However I note using 'top' that the CPU utilisation hovers around...
