Good news, thank you.
Hi Spoon. Any update on the port of Asset 5 for QNAP devices?
Cheers
Ray
It's not to do with ultrasonic noise.
Your DAC may not support native DSD streaming but may support DoP, which packages DSD to look like 24bit PCM for the purpose of getting it to the DAC. If it...
Good news, Thanks Spoon.
I've now got a cheap and cheerful 'prototype' DSD music player working; it plays back DSD files extremely well without the use of a conventional DAC. The results are very positive and I'm now...

Are you able to say any more, especially which platforms you'll release it for and when. Being entirely selfish, my vote would go for the QNAP NAS TS-231.
I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question but curious if there are plans for Asset to be able to transcode to DSD (dsf/dff) and, if so, at what rates.
I've already converted some...
The stream from Asset will be the same in the different scenarios and Asset cannot 'know' what processing the Marantz is doing; it can only be an issue with the Marantz.
Well at least you know of our interest if that has any sway with your work scheduling;)
Yes, I'm pretty sure that the code for QNAP NAS and RPi are closely related Linux developments.
I'm listening to the DSD on this;

Hi Spoon, using the config settings I mentioned in my previous post I'm now enjoying native DSD64 and DSD128 streamed from Asset V5 b8 on my laptop; it sounds excellent.
The only issue on this...
After a little experimentation I'm now enjoying native DSD64 and DSD128 streamed from Asset V5 b8 on my laptop; it sounds excellent.
The only issue on this setup that I'm experiencing is that...
Hi Spoon, by setting the options for .dsf and .dff files to 'as is single' I was able to send files from Asset V5 b8 to my DSD capable renderer using BubbleUPnP as the control point.

But it played dsf using upnp via JRiver? I'll do some research and experimenting, maybe try a different control point, such as PlugPlayer.
OK, thank you Spoon. I guess the next step is to have a look at Bubble configuration?

I'm a long time Asset user but did try minim on my QNAP NAS because of the DSD capability but it didn't last long; Minim is so complicated compared with Asset!
I'm also running a second instance...
Hi Spoon, ref my previous post about transcoding of DSD data...
This evening I've done a couple of tests with the Asset debug file turned on; attached is a zipped folder containing two debug...
OK, will check it out and report back.
Thanks
Hi Spoon. Yesterday I updated my DAC so that it is now able to accept and decode DSD streams (native dsf/dff or DoP). The network renderer board in my DAC has leds that indicate whether the incoming...
Asset V5 for my QNAP TS-231 NAS gets my vote; I'll have native DSD capability on my DAC as soon as the new interface card arrives from down under.
Cheers

I should have said that the renderer/DAC setup I use has been tested with DSD64 and DSD128 material (also tested for PCM up to 384KHz, though I don't have any material at that rate).
Hi Spoon, a short update on my experience and plans for Asset V5/DSD.
I'm running my main system using Asset V4.4 on a QNAP NAS but have installed V5 on my laptop, pointing to the music files on...
All is well today; thanks for whatever you did Spoon?

I've now purchased Asset for my QNAP and it made no difference to the TuneIn favourites not being visible.
My TuneIn favourites work on my Android device so I assume the account is not the...
Regarding TuneIn favourites, some further information;
I've checked my TuneIn account and have radio stations set up in my library there. I've tried changing both my TuneIn username and email...
