    Re: AccurateRip Won't Configure

I think the AccurateRip server might be down. I can't get the ripper (or any other app) to connect to AccurateRip either.

    AccurateRip lagging

I have noticed that AccurateRip has been lagging a bit lately. I will insert a CD, and it takes several minutes for the ripper to read the disc. It takes even longer for the ripper to retrieve...

Re: 5 tracks say "Encoding 99%"

If you are referring to "Read into Lead-in or Lead-out," it's unchecked.

    5 tracks say "Encoding 99%"

This problem appears to be isolated to one of my ripping drives. Itís an older HP model I use as a backup in case I have difficulty with my primary drive. My main ripping drive is an LG, and I have...

    Re: Disc detection problems

I believe the situation has resolved itself, somehow. I'm not exactly sure how. Maybe it was a fluke.

I don't know if this made a difference or not, but I installed the most recent chipset driver...

    Disc detection problems

I have a rather unusual conundrum. I did a quick search on the forum and it appears others have had a similar problem. To make a long story short, when I open the ripper and load a CD, the disc is...
  7. Re: CD Ripper shows Accurate but Perfect Tunes says inaccurate

Yeah... to echo what Spoon said, all of your DSPs change the audio data. That would definitely cause problems with PerfectTunes.

Re: C2 stopped working on this drive?

Thanks for the suggestion. One thing I failed to mention is that my second ripping drive still supports C2.

C2 stopped working on this drive?

I have an HP Blu-ray burner that has served as my primary ripping drive for several years. Up until now, I had no problems using this drive with C2 pointers enabled. After upgrading the motherboard...

    Re: Download not working

I think this site might be having some server issues. It's taking a long time to navigate the forums and the ripper has had difficulty connecting to AccurateRip, too.

Re: FLAC to M4a and back to FLAC

I don't fully understand the nature of your problem, or what might be causing it. However, I would be remiss if I didn't warn you that when you convert FLAC to M4A (or any other lossy codec), you...

Re: David Foster and CD Ripper

For the LG drive, you might try disabling C2 if it's enabled. I've had LG drives and, for some reason, C2 acted really crazy with them. Too many false positives.

Re: David Foster and CD Ripper

I have many of David Foster's CDs and they have all ripped without error.

Do you have a second ripping drive that you could try?

    Re: Problems in ripping

The best advice I can offer is to have a second ripping drive. When one drive fails to rip a particular album or track, switch to the second. This should resolve 90% of all ripping difficulties.
  15. Eject after rip question: Secure (Warning)?

I tried searching the forums for this, but I never have much luck finding relevant information.

I would like to know if the ripper considers "Secure (Warning)" as a secure rip when configuring the...
  16. Re: New user - should I send cd back to Amazon when I get an error?

I would recommend having a second ripping drive handy, if possible. I always encounter discs that can't be ripped by one drive, but rip perfectly with the second.

    Re: PerfectTUNES R2 discussion

I have ripped more albums in the time since I posted. The count is now at 164 total albums, with 22 not present in the database. PerfectTUNES reports 163 album accurately ripped. However, I can...

    Re: PerfectTUNES R2 discussion

I don't know if this is an actual problem, but it's something that does seem amiss. I am using the most recent beta.

I just scanned my music drive with PerfectTUNES. Out of 126 discs, 8 are not in...

Re: FLAC rip in dBpoweramp vs Foobar2000

Perhaps dBpoweramp is embedding album art? That would account for the larger file size.
  21. Re: Reference 15.1. Still no info in any DB database about Stevie Nicks latest CD.

Do you have the standard or the "limited quantity" deluxe version? It's possible the latter may not be in any databases.

    Metadata retrieval takes forever!

I have noticed that, with some discs, metadata retrieval takes an insanely long time (upwards of three minutes). I haven't been able to pinpoint a rhyme or reason for it. So far, the only common...

    Re: Real Basic Question

Unless you have moved the file in question, re-ripping the track should overwrite the old file.

I just tested it myself with my own copy. Metadata was available from all four providers.

Re: Can't copy music onto a blank CD

I believe Windows natively supports burning data CDs. For audio CDs, I've used Burrrn in the past.
