Missing Album Art
Hello -
I'm running paid version of dBpower amp on OS 10.14.2 Mojave.
I'm ripping CDs to 3 formats: Apple Lossless, MP3 & FLAC.
In output files, the Album art only shows up on the Apple Lossless file icons in Finder or as cover art in Itunes.
However, when I open the mp3 or flac files in a tagging program like Metadatics, the cover art shows up.
Any clues how to fix this?
thanks in advance.

Re: Missing Album Art
The issue lies with Apple, finder will not show the cover art from any flac file, no matter what created it.

Re: Missing Album Art
Thanks for quick response, Spoon.
I understand about the Flac icons. But art from dBPowr amp-created MP3 don't show up either.
And this art does indeed show up in Finder icons for MP3s with other ripping software.
Also the art doesn't show up in Itunes for dbPower amp-created MP3s either.
Thoughts?

Re: Missing Album Art
Is art being embedded in the mp3 files?

Yes.
As I said it shows up in metadata/tagging software like Metadatics, but NOT in Itunes or Swinsian.
Curiously, artwork for Apple Lossless files does show up in Itunes.

To clarify, the art could be showing up in Metadatics because the program is reading the artwork from the "folder.jpg" or "cover.jpg" file within the folder containing the album tracks. I'm not sure, but I don't think itunes will read the art from folder.jpg and thus would need embedded art. It would be good to make sure that these files have embedded artwork (instead of or in addition to having a folder.jpg or cover.jpg file only).

Re: Missing Album Art
Did you add the folders to iTunes or did you just copy the new files over old ones which have been included already?

Hey garym - I opened a single mp3 file from my desktop in Metadatics. No folder with folder or cover jpeg.
Here's something weird -- on a whim, i right-clicked the art work in Metadatics. Then I selected "resizing" option -- enlarging it maybe 10 pixels -- and then saved. Taa-daa! Artwork shows up as Finder file icon and then displays when I import into Itunes.
Gets me the artwork I want, but adds what IMO is an unnecessary step. Oy.

Re: Missing Album Art
Dat El - I tried importing single file into Itunes. This has never been an issue before.

doesn't seem like a practical solution. I'd keep trying to find the problem. Something odd going on....
