    M4A files will not convert

I just upgraded to *R16 of dbPowerAmp. In my previous version, and in this version I get this err msg when I trying to convert M4A files to any other format. I've tried different files, and I get the same result. I even re-downloaded the m4a (Apple Lossless & AAC) codec, but it made no difference.

    Err Msg.
Error converting to mp3 (Lame), 'C:\Users\Gary David\Dropbox\Zoom Privates\2017-03-27 12.33.02 Brooke 8189059013\Brooke.m4a' to 'C:\Users\Gary David\Dropbox\Zoom Privates\2017-03-27 12.33.02 Brooke 8189059013\Brooke.mp3'** Unable to decode m4a file (is corrupt or not supported audio type).

What created the m4a file? It might be a non-standard file, m4a is a container format and contain many other types of compression internally, even mp3.

I'm having this same issue. The .m4a contains an AAC file and was created by a DAW. It plays back fine on MPC-HC but gives a "corrupt" error with Groove Music. MPC-HC gives the following information:
      General
      Format : AIFF
      Format/Info : Apple/SGI
      File size : 33.0 MiB
      Duration : 3 min 16 s
Overall bit rate mode : Constant
      Overall bit rate : 1 411 kb/s
      FileExtension_Invalid : aiff aifc aif

      Audio
      Format : PCM
      Format settings, Endianness : Big
      Duration : 3 min 16 s
      Bit rate mode : Constant
      Bit rate : 1 411.2 kb/s
      Channel(s) : 2 channels
      Sampling rate : 44.1 kHz
      Bit depth : 16 bits
      Stream size : 33.0 MiB (100%)

The file looks to be a .aiff file, try renaming it from .m4a

That worked! Thanks. I wonder why the converter couldn't do this with the .m4a
