Issues with generating cuesheets
I use the trial version of dbpoweramp and I want to buy the full version. But I do not succeed in creating a working cuesheet.
I constantly get the following error message:
Unable to open item for playback (Error parsing cuesheet: declaring a track with no file set (line 4)):
"C:\Users\Username\Desktop\Paula Cole\This Fire\Cuesheet.cue"
What am I doing wrong?

Re: Issues with generating cuesheets
You have created a cue sheet with individual files, your player is expecting a single file, there is an option on the cuesheet generator to write only one file for the whole disc.

You were right. I tried it with a single file and a cue sheet. Foobar opens it without any problems.
But Roon doesn't. Single file and a cue sheet dont work with Roon. As Roon is my main software for playback, I can't go to a single file.
What to do?
Re: Issues with generating cuesheets
Not use CueSheets then if your player cannot use.

You should ask on the Roon forum. But Roon has stated that it has no plans to support CUE sheets in its system. See, for example,

Re: Issues with generating cuesheets
TThanks for pointing out the thread in the Roon forum. I read there that Roon does not support cue sheets at all. They claim that Roon does not need cue sheets. Ok.
Nevertheless, I somehow do not understand why dbpoweramp can't create a readable cue sheet for a player like foobar with individual files.
If it can create a working cue sheet with a single file, why is this not possible with multiple files? Did I set something wrong?
I still think that you should have a cue sheet, if you have to change the software or have to playback on a different system.

I don't understand the need for a cue sheet with multiple files. The point of a cue sheet is that it tells the player how a *single* file is divided up into separate tracks. I also don't understand your point about needing a cue sheet if you "have to change the software or have to playback on a different system." I've not seen any modern player that won't play lossless files, gaplessly, without the need for a Cue sheet. I agree that 15 years ago, Cue sheets were important in some cases in order to achieve gapless playblack. This hasn't been true for many years. I can understand the "simplicity" argument regarding having an entire album represented by a single file and cue sheet, but otherwise I struggle to understand the need for a Cue sheet in 2019.
Please understand that I'm not personally attacking your choices--to each their own. But I truly don't understand the value that the CUE sheet would bring with multiple audio files.
Re: Issues with generating cuesheets
Although dBpoweramp can create a cuesheet for separate files, you will find nothing player wise will use that, because there is no need if the individual files are available.
