FYI, The Tag Editor doesn't work, nor does the Tag From Filename codec, with DSD512 files (which are quite large).
What is the extension of your dsd files?
dsf
What is the size of the file please?
The file you sent, I am able to change the artist to 'Mahler, Gustav 123' and it sticks.
Please try R17 from the testing section of our forum as this is the DSD tagger we use.
Hello,
I'm using R16 and tag edit does not work for me also for DSD512 (dsf) files. DSD256 and below works fine, but DSD512 not.
Tag data entered through dbpoweramp tag edit is stored in the file (as I can see with MP3TAG) but not shown at all in dbpoweramp tag edit.
Also converting DSD512 (dsf) files to other formats (e.g. DSD256 or FLAC) does not work. See error messages below.
DSD512 to DSD256:
Error converting to DSD, 'Test512.dsf' to 'Test256.dsf'
Error Converting from 'Format Tag: 1 Channels: 2 Bits per Sample: 24 Samples Per Second: 2822400 Bytes Per Second: 16934400 Block Align: 6 CB Size: 0' to 'Format Tag: 1 Channels: 2 Bits per Sample: 24 Samples Per Second: 96000 Bytes Per Second: 576000 Block Align: 6 CB Size: 0'
DSD512 to FLAC:
Error converting to FLAC, 'Test512.dsf' to 'Test.flac'
Error Converting from 'Format Tag: 1 Channels: 2 Bits per Sample: 24 Samples Per Second: 2822400 Bytes Per Second: 16934400 Block Align: 6 CB Size: 0' to 'Format Tag: 1 Channels: 2 Bits per Sample: 24 Samples Per Second: 96000 Bytes Per Second: 576000 Block Align: 6 CB Size: 0'
It looks like DSD512 is not recognized correctly (bits per sample 24 instead of 1).
I just upgraded to R17.3 to get rid of the problem, but it does not work :-(
Any ideas?
Please upload one of the files to dropbox and personal message me the link.
Hello Spoon,
I sent you a pm with a dropbox link.
The key to this is the popup info when hovering over the file, it shows 'Unable to read track details'
I have downloaded the same file from dropbox and it shows the full details for the 'WAV to DSD512.dsf' file.
Ensure the latest R17.3 is installed, perhaps uninstall dBpoweramp first then reinstall the latest.
I uninstalled dBpoweramp, rebooted and installed latest R17.3 ... no change
I installed latest R17.3 again ... no change
Where is the file stored? On the local pc? If not try moving to the local computer HD&*8217;s. What security software do you have?
The file is stored on a local drive (SSD), from USB stick doesn't work also.
I just use Windows 10 Defender.
I previously had R16.6 with DSD decoder (dBpoweramp-Codec-DSD-SACD) installed. There DSD512 tags did not work also.
I was hoping to get it fixed with R17.3.
Run dBpoweramp Control Centre, on the advanced page enable the debug option.
Then convert that 'WAV to DSD512.dsf' to wave and post the resulting debug log here please.
Hello Spoon,
Please finde below the debug log:

Please try starting Windows in Safe mode:
https://support.avira.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002870214-How-do-I-start-Windows-10-in-Safe-Mode-
If this does not work download, unzip and copy the file to (C:\Program Files\dBpoweramp\decoder) overwriting the existing file:
https://www.dbpoweramp.com/beta/DSDSACD.zip
Windows in Safe mode did not change the situation.
New DLL did not change the situation.
New DLL in Windows Safe mode also not.
Do you have a different system you can try, this is very puzzling.
I tested it just in a quite clean Windows 10 virtual box, but no change.
Also in a new Windows 10 Home 20H2 virtual box with nothing installed but dBpoweramp DSD512 tags and converting from DSD512 does not work for me.
I have tested it now on a separate Windows 10 PC also ...
... no change ... same error messages ...
... DSD512 tag editing as well as DSD512 audio format converting does not work with R17.3
Is there anybody who is able to use these two features with DSD512 (.dsf) files on a Windows 10 PC?

I just ran into problems ocnverting DSF DSD512 to 96/24 WAV on 17.3 W10. What can I do to help resolve?
We will continue to investigate it until it can be reproduced. Please upload the DSD 512 file to drop box and provide a link by Personal Mail on this forum.
Ok the issue relates to frequency conversion, if you run dBpoweramp Control Center >> Codec List / Options and set DSD Decoding Down sampling to: 172KHz it will work.
The issue (of 96KHZ) is being investigated.
