Since I only have hearing in one ear I have routinely converted all the stereo files from cd ripping to mono. Just recently picked up a new ipod touch and see that it has a setting to play all files in mono. For apple lossless there is quite a savings in space when converting from stereo to mono, but am wondering if there is any audio advantage to having the files converted to mono rather than using the ipod setting?
