Failing to find existing discogs entry
When dBpoweramp fails to find meta-data, is there any simple way to import from a specified Discogs entry? For example I have the following CD:
https://www.discogs.com/Ivan-Mikuli%C4%87-Ka%C5%BEi-Joj-Suzo/release/11906973
which dBpoweramp fails to find metadata for (although iTunes can).
More fundamentally, is there a good explainer on how meta-data lookup works? Perhaps some linkage information is missing on the Discogs entry that is causing the failure?
Thanks in advance for any pointers.
S.
Re: Failing to find existing discogs entry
iTunes does note use discogs, and discogs does not have CD lookup >> entry, so dBpoweramp uses other databases to find the album name, so in effect discogs is an additional database for the other 3. The next major release will allow manual lookup in discogs though.
Re: Failing to find existing discogs entry
Many thanks for the information and delighted to hear that manual lookup is coming. I'll put some discs aside to test this out when it arrives.

Is there any ETA for this please?

Full release would be around this time next year.

Hi Spoon,
Has this feature made it in yet? If not, any updated ETA?
Thanks!

Will start work on it soon.

I recently started evaluating Batch CD Ripper to see if ripping my collection to FLAC is practicable. It rejected this because no metadata was found.

What's the procedure at present to rip this CD and name/tag the files with the Discogs metadat?
Re: Failing to find existing discogs entry
I recently began evaluating dDpoweramp Batch Ripper to see if it is practicable to rip my CD collection to FLAC.
I inserted this CD
https://www.discogs.com/Panicsville-The-Last-Compulsory-Exercise/release/1072214
and it fails. That's ok, I don't expect it to be able to look up all my CDs. But what am I supposed to do next? This is not clear. I opened the CD in dDpoweramp CD Ripper but I couldn't fine the option to give it the Discogs release ID or (preferably) URL. Do I need to copy-paste or type each metadata item and fetch the image? I don't mind doing the search myself but since dDpoweramp already has a connection to Discogs its seems reasonable to use it.
Re: Failing to find existing discogs entry
You need R17 from the testing section, it will offer to search on no metadata found.
