The main launcher program does not have any preferences, each of the sub programs do, but to access the option it is the spanner icon on title bar.
Do you have any security software which could be blocking it? or a poor internet connection? try re-running the program. I just checked 1000 albums and no connection issues.
On a Mac it gives a file structure for Music ~/music
Here I have a collection of all kinds of audio files (in some subdirectories), some even double.
For ripped files I use
~/music/XLD_ripp/ (reside with XLD ripped music albums) and
~/music/dBpoweramp/ (reside with dBpoweramp ripped and buy'd downloaded music albums)
Now if I scan only this both folders the most error messages are gone.
Conclusion - if any changed in the file structure (folders, names) before scan the point 'Clear database Cache' must done!
I had some changed - after clear the the error messages were gone.
