FLAC to AIFF conversion ID tags not showing in Windows 10 Explorer
I recently upgraded to dbpa v17.2 on a new Win 10 computer and converted an album of FLAC files over to AIFF as I've done before using v16.6 in Win 7. However, now the ID tags in the .AIF files don't show up in Explorer. Please see the attached screenshot.
Audio Info is also captured in attached screenshots for both FLAC and for AIFF. Any ideas how to resolve this so the tags will show up in Explorer? Thank you.
Re: FLAC to AIFF conversion ID tags not showing in Windows 10 Explorer
Install all updates for Windows 10, there was an issue with previous versions and the property handler.
Then uninstall dBpoweramp, and full shutdown of windows, then reinstall R17.2
Re: FLAC to AIFF conversion ID tags not showing in Windows 10 Explorer
I tried that, but unfortunately it didn't work, I still have the same problem in Explorer. So I rolled back to R16.6, converted a few FLAC files to AIFF and everything is fine in Win 10 Explorer. I should also mention that R16.6 is considerably faster than R17.2. Since I've already upgraded to R17.2, I'll wait for the next version and try that. For now, I'll stick with R16.6.
Re: FLAC to AIFF conversion ID tags not showing in Windows 10 Explorer
What security software are you using?
Re: FLAC to AIFF conversion ID tags not showing in Windows 10 Explorer
I'm using Norton 360 with default settings.
Re: FLAC to AIFF conversion ID tags not showing in Windows 10 Explorer
Try uninstalling it to see if that is blocking dBpoweramp
Re: FLAC to AIFF conversion ID tags not showing in Windows 10 Explorer
Why would Norton 360 block R17.2 but not R16.6?
Re: FLAC to AIFF conversion ID tags not showing in Windows 10 Explorer
There a several and different methods how a security software detects critical software. Methods like the identification of known byte patterns or code, or the bevaviour of programs etc. pp. Sometimes it needs only a daily update of a security software to tell if a program is a harmless software or not or to generate a false positive.

Re: FLAC to not showing in Windows 7 Explorer and other codec extensions
The problem occurs windows 7. Missing ID tag -windows explorer. Uninstall dbpoweramp 17.2 and everything returns to normal. I suggest to use MP3TAG users, otherwise it is impossible
Re: FLAC to not showing in Windows 7 Explorer and other codec extensions
dBpoweramp Control Center >> Advanced Settings
uncheck the 'Thumbnail and property handler'
