Encoder Not Found
I was running an older version of dBpoweramp and got the error message "Encoder Not Found". I saw I was running an older version so I just updated to 17.1.
I still get the same error message and can't figure it out.
I'm running it on a Mac Mini (Late 2012) with SSD drives and Mojave 10.14.6.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Encoder Not Found
Which encoder do you have selected? you are ripping a CD?
-
Re: Encoder Not Found
Also, what is the full error message that is being shown?
-
Re: Encoder Not Found
Yes, I'm trying to rip a CD.
There are no encoders showing up.

Re: Encoder Not Found
The full error message is "Encoder Not Found."

Re: Encoder Not Found
Pictures of what your CD Ripper window looks like would be welcome, to be extra sure how it's failing.
Also, please export a snapshot of your configuration (R17.1: dBpoweramp Advanced Settings, diagnostics tab) and email it to peter@dbpoweramp.com for analysis; since reinstalling dBpoweramp did not resolve it there must be something wrong in its configuration data.

That's just it - I don't see anything in the Encoder part of the window and I don't see a "dBpoweramp Advanced Settings" option
anywhere. I don't see a "diagnostics tab" either. Email sent.

Re: Encoder Not Found
The diagnostics tab:
https://www.dbpoweramp.com/Help/dMCOSX/
Run the main program >> 'Advanced Settings'
https://www.dbpoweramp.com/Help/dMCOSX/dMCConfig.htm
There will be a new diagnostics tab.

Re: Encoder Not Found
It seems my email reply didn't come thru?
It appears that some of your dBpoweramp profile folders cannot be accessed.
I added specific fixes for this in newly posted dBpoweramp beta-
https://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?45470-dBpoweramp-R17-2-for-Mac-beta
It will now attempt to recover from this automatically and refuse to start up if that fails.
If problems persist, type these in Mac OS Terminal:
sudo chown -R "$USER" ~/Library/dBpoweramp
sudo chmod -R o+rw ~/Library/dBpoweramp
(sudo will prompt for your password)
If neither of the above helps, open Finder, go to ~/Library (Cmd+Shift+G), delete "dBpoweramp" folder.

No, I did not get the email. Sorry.
I tried the first step and when I launched the new version I got this error message:
"dBpoweramp installation damaged - please reinstall.
I will try the second step.

That fixed it.
Thank you.
