IDK why, but after update to v17.2, music files show no artwork as a icon. Tried to switch thumbnail handler off/on in prefs, without effects. Audio files show their default (static) icon.
This has worked fine yet in R17.1. Please fix it.

Uninstall dBpoweramp, reboot Windows, then reinstall dBpoweramp
No
Do you have any security software which might be blocking the new thumbnail handler?
Which version of Windows do you have?
It's 8.1 64bit. I was suspecting new version of having bug and downgraded to R17.1. But after another restart, file icons are still not showing live artwork. On each case the live icons stopped to work after regular dbPoweramp update and Windows restart. I'm clue less now.
Security software?
Still same and not touched in any way.
It's not system wide issue (live previews for images are shown fine - serviced by XnView shell extension)

Why do you have the 32 bit version of dBpoweramp installed, your OS is 64 bit.
Same problem here : the thumbnails have disappeared after upgrading from 16.x to 17.2 (both reference registered).
Running Windows 10 Pro 19041.508 64-bits, French version, clean reinstalls of Windows as well as dBpoweramp 64-bits, no security add-ons (standard Windows fare, Defender et al.), default dBpoweramp config (same when playing with the params)

Flac files.
What's really strange is that thumbnails display properly on downloaded files from Qobuz, Bandcamp et al. but disappear as soon as they are replaced with resized versions (I don't care about large embedded folder.jpg files and reduce them to 300 x 300 before properly tagging the files using dBpoweramp.

Tagged/edited version https://www.dropbox.com/s/3z29mmcj3znudi6/01%20-%20Home%20Run%20King.flac?dl=0
Oh, and the original folder.jpg file stays embedded after tagging/editing, I have to remove it a second time. Grrr.
OTOH, I've also upgraded JRiver Media Center from 26.x to 27.0.20 and the thumbnails only show in the file lists as well as the top "currently playing" panes but not any more in the bottom left "Display" and "[Library]" panes. Could be a conflict between handlers.
Done earlier today. The post is waiting for approval from a moderator.

Thank ya for this confirmation, now I'm more certain that the issue is not on my side. What's weird is even downgrade to R17.1 doesn't restore the live previews, which implies that the installer self or the software had to make some undesired and irreversible changes to system.

Whatever. The format doesn't matter.

The dbPA property handler however works as expected and shows embedded artwork if included, so the issue concerns only the thumbnail provider.
