Re: Where is the Dbpoweramp audio player forum?
whats your question? DAP still works well even though it is no longer supported or being developed.
Are you running ver R11.5?
First of all, WOW I didn't know I was going to cause such a stir in the DAP community.
DBPoweramp is and has been my favorite player for 10+ years. iTunes just doesn't cut it.
My issue with DAP is that recently it has stopped working.
The player will open and it will play the first few seconds of a song and then crash.
I was wondering if you were familiar with that type of issue and had any idea what could cause it?
Where would I find the version number? After all these years, you'd think I would know where that was.
Thank you so much for keeping this player alive.
Re: Where is the Dbpoweramp audio player forum?
sorry, i meant R3 beta 6 is the latest DAP player. look to where you installed dbpoweramp and the folder called "version" will have a txt file in showing the version you have.
you may have to reinsatall it. Its best to install dap into it's own folder seperately to dmc.
Re: Where is the Dbpoweramp audio player forum?
There is a text file in the Versions folder called dMC.txt and it says release 13.3. I would think that's for the converter and not the player.
I don't see any other text files that could contain the version. I just see the colors text files for the Music Collection window.
Where's the best place to get the latest release? Will it work with Windows 7 64-bit?
Re: Where is the Dbpoweramp audio player forum?
Illustrate-->dBpowerAMP-->Versions
is that where you looked?
I have it on my forum as an attatchment http://www.razgo.com/showthread.php?59318-download-dap-music-player&p=60816*post60816
but you have to register to download it.
its not that easy to find anymore and Spoon has removed it from his servers.
And yes i run it on my windows 7 64bit laptop no problems.

Yes that is the path where I found the dMC.txt file and no other text files were there.
Re: Where is the Dbpoweramp audio player forum?
ok, well i found another link here that works http://www.clubic.com/lancer-le-telechargement-63344-0-dbpoweramp-audio-player.html
just click on the red label and it will download R3 beta6
I guess you could do a serach on your computer for "dAP.txt" and see if that turns it up.
Re: Where is the Dbpoweramp audio player forum?
Thank you for the link.
I downloaded the program, uninstalled dAP and dMC, rebooted, reinstalled dAP and I still have the same problem.
In the uninstall process I even removed the Illustrate folder from the Program Files folder to be sure it was a clean install.
I hadn't even started playing any music files yet. It crashed just a couple seconds after loading.
Re: Where is the Dbpoweramp audio player forum?
OK, have you checked yoyur registery files?
try this soluton from this old thread : http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?6828-Uninstalling-Issues-and-Fix
A. If uninstalling does not help, then follow these instructions to make a totally clean start:
*** if you are using dBpowerAMP Audio Player, backup your music collection first ***
***FIRST, uninstall all Illustrate products (dMC, dAP, etc.) and all codecs.***
1)Select 'Start' >> 'Run' and type:
regedit.exe
Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Illustrate
delete the Key (folder) 'dBpowerAMP'.
2) Using Windows Explorer, open C:\Program Files\Illustrate and Delete the folder 'dBpowerAMP'
3) Reinstall, one by one dMC and Codecs.
4) Reinstall, dbpoweramp music player
Re: Where is the Dbpoweramp audio player forum?
oh it looks like spoon has another solution which i think does the same thing http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?13285-Totally-Clearing-dBpoweramp-from-the-System
Totally Clearing dBpoweramp from the System?
...also how to do a full reset of dBpoweramp? (if dBpoweramp crashes for some reason)
Where does dBpoweramp save its files / settings?
It is installed to Program Files\Illustrate\dBpoweramp
It writes large settings as files to: Application Data\dBpoweramp
Saves small settings in the registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Illustrate
Why when uninstalling dBpoweramp are bits left behind?
Generally speaking, nothing should be left in Program files, unless a newer version of a codec / program was installed with different files and the older one was not uninstalled first.
Application data and registry entries are left behind, many people uninstall old versions before installing new, wiping their preferences would not go down too well.
We have created a utility to wipe dBpoweramp from these areas:
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/install/dBpoweramp-Reset.exe
100 KB (runs straight from web, no installing required).
Note: AMG access would be removed also
Re: Where is the Dbpoweramp audio player forum?
Yes!! This worked great.
Uninstalled, cleared key from registry, reinstalled, and it works again!!
Thank you so much for your assistance.

Re: Where is the Dbpoweramp audio player forum?
Of course as soon as I posted the previous dAP crashed on me.
It happened after I changed the folder to be watched back to the My Music folder.
Now that I know what settings are saved in the registry, I went in and changed the watch folder to another drive.
Now dAP is able to run again.
There must be a problem with one of the mp3 files from the CDs I recently imported.
I can't believe that that's what the problem was!
I was thinking it was a technical problem when this whole time it's a problem with my music. LOL
Re: Where is the Dbpoweramp audio player forum?
lol, oh well, all good now :komisch12
Re: Where is the Dbpoweramp audio player forum?
Razgo, I registered on your site to download DAP, but I haven't received a confirmation e-mail from your site (the one with the confirmation link). Consequently, I can log on, but I still can't download DAP. Please Advise...thanks.
