RE: Safest / Easiest Method Of Deleting Unwanted Tags?
Hi folks,
I hope it's permissible to open a new thread for this single question (moderators please feel free to relocate).
I would like to delete, from my 600+ ripped (FLAC) CD collection, the following tags, please:
ArtistSort; AlbumArtistSort; ComposerSort; ConductorSort
I have decided the above are pretty much superfluous for my needs.
Obviously I want to be sure of the safest method of doing so! In the first instance, which s/w would be most appropriate for this particular task, please? Illustrate or mp3tag?
Many thanks in advance for any kind assistance offered here.
Best,
Paul David Seaman

. . . if mp3tag, would you use the below command?:

Thanks.
Re: Safest / Easiest Method Of Deleting Unwanted Tags?
First backup your tags using the Audio Info Utility Codec (or Export in MP3Tag).
Then use the ID Tag Update Utility Codec > Deletions tab.

In MP3Tag, I tend to use the Extended Tags... dialog.

Hi mville,
Is this within dBpa Music Converter? I mean, is Audio Info a DSP (d/l from Codec Central)?
Sorry for any misunderstanding.

Yes, but it isn't a DSP, it is a utility codec: dBpoweramp Codec Central: Utility Codecs

OK, great. So it's an add-on.
I can back-up one of my HD copies.
I'll d/l it tomorrow, thanks.
