Filename & Restricted characters
hi,
I have upgraded to 16.6 and I have a problem with the restricted characters.
I have made it so that the [B];[/B] is replaced with a [B],[/B]
( mainly this is need in the[B] artist & the composer[/B] tags )
on doing this I get a [B]/[/B] instead of the [B],[/B] in iTunes
pls find attached screen shots[ATTACH=CONFIG]2310[/ATTACH][ATTACH=CONFIG]2311[/ATTACH]
Re: Filename & Restricted characters
I believe [I]Filename Restricted Characters[/I] only affects the filename and not your tags.

That has been my experience, and I use the restricted characters in my tags, though using the restricted characters in post editing, is problematic.
Re: Filename & Restricted characters
';' is a special character in the Tags for dBpoweramp, it separates multiple artists, when written to ID Tags it is written correctly for the tag format (such as / for ID3 tags).

yes, this is exactly where I get the problem.
do you think I should leave the setting to [B]default[/B] and make the changes manually to [B]separates multiple artists[/B] ??

hi,
most of the time in AIFF.
very rarely in ALAC
Re: Filename & Restricted characters
Add the DSP effect 'ID Tag Processing' on the Manipulation tab select:
Multiple Artists to 'Artist1; Artist2' for non multiple artist aware programs
iTunes is not compatible with multiple artists.
