Issue with ID3 tagging and DSP features in trial version

I installed the 21 days trial version an a Win7 32-bit machine 3 days ago. Converting of audio files works fine but DSP features cannot be added and ID3 tags are not editable. In both cases dBpoweramp tells me that "Reference" is necessary, what should actually be part of the trial version.
I didn't registrate the trial yet. Is a registration of the product mandatory to unlock the features?
Any other proposal to solve the issue?
