    Display cover art

I'd really like to display the cover art for whatever track is being served by AssetUPnP. Is there any practical way to do this ? Ideally I'd like a front panel LCD on the Linux box I run Asset on.

Using a microcontroller would be ideal, and I know of USB - SPI chips which could communicate between the systems motherboard and a microcontroller.

Having looked at my music collection, there is about 3.7G of artwork (.jpg, .png) so storing it on an SD with the microcontroller isn't practical.

Sorry there is no way of doing this outside of UPnP, your front panel should be a UPnP control point, it can show playing art.

What about having the ucontroller listen for SSDP messages, and then looking up artwork based on that ? Then some careful parsing and waiting while a track has been playing for a while before downloading an image for it.

It's getting out of my league to make a control point front panel, and I've searched for one without success.
