Cannot rip to FLAC

Using dbpoweramp on a PC with an external DVD drive. I have successfully ripped a large-ish CD collection But now I receive the following message most times I try to rip CDs. As beloiw

Error ripping to FLAC, 'Track 1' to 'E:\HTPC\Music\Paul Simon\Still Crazy After All These Years\Still Crazy After All These Years.flac'
Unable to read CD, check CD disc (frame LBA 0 ripping 26 frames track end LBA 15490) [clRipperBurst::Rip]

Note that I can play CDs using the same drive.

If I try to rip from a different drive to the same destination over a network I also get an error but one which says 'Error unable to open file'

Any thoughts?

With the other drive which gives the network error, as a test set the output folder to your local Music folder, does it rip?
