I disabled Norton Internet Security Antivirus Auto-Protect and that did it!

Strange, as it's literally been years since I've had Norton's interaction with a product cause a problem. NIS is so much improved over recent years and fails so rarely I guess I'd got out of the habit of turning it off when installing software, although I still close down everything else when running an install.

Thank you, Spoon. I see the many tributes on these boards to your wisdom and knowledge and I think, me too, that's how I feel. Now it's time for me to bow and walk slowly out of the room the room, but backwards.

    Virus checker blocking the install?

On my Windows XP MCE SP3 system, attempting to install dMC-R14-Ref-Trial.exe, when installing file 6 of 170, an error message appears stating that GetPopupInfo.exe cannot be installed, disk may be full, but the disk has in fact 27GB free.

Is being a happy dbpoweramp user in my future, or should I give up now?
