I've been using the options file of the SSE2 plugin for every lancer build till now.
Somehow I always get an error on stdin with this new oggenc2.exe
Debug didn't help much.
Have they changed stdin support ?

It could be a problem with the ogg codec, a test with other stdin out capable programs would show this.

apparently oggenc2.8 has an stdin bug, it doesn't work with dmc, use the build from november, it works perfectly fine, both are based on aotuv b4.51

it should work with the regular cli plugin (with temp files)

foobar2000 can pipe with the new lancer... so there is a way... maybe spoon could grace us with a newer and better cli plugin? (like fake input file for junk that doesn't actually support piping ;) )

If you are supplying a file, then it is hardly using stdin...

Spoon, it does take stuff from stdin.
oggenc2 - -o test.ogg <test.wav
gives an ogg.
But the wave I used is a signed 16 bit stereo.
I have same problems with enc_aacplus.exe (see winamp encoder thread),
which only takes a normal signed wave from stdin.
Therefore it is solvable, but not easy.

There's a new lancer build out : lancer20060303.
And this one works just like the old one. :smile2:
The SSE2 plugin can be used, replacing the existing exe with this exe.
Off course, you have to rename the commandline in the options file to fit the name of the lancer exe (oggenc2.exe).
So problem solved.
This thread can be closed.
Thanx for the replies.

almost... it works fine from wave... crashes with an mp3 as the source (ntdll.dll is the problem) and crashes on track 2 when ripping a CD (same error)... so I'm sticking with the november release

Converting mp3's works fine with me.
I use WXP SP1 with updates.

Really? the "SSE2" is confusing.

The SSE2 build is the one for the P4, Athlon64 and Pentium M.
The other build is the P3 optimized build. :)
