When I convert mp4a files to mp3, the created files are only about 4k and don't play. Anyone know what the problem could be? I downloaded the required codecs, but nothing seems to work.

Are they protected (encrypted) files? If so dMC cannot convert them.

Also do you have a registered version of dMC or unexpired trial version? You need that in order to convert anything to mp3.

All of the files are from iTunes and have been converted to mp4a, so I don't know if that matters in terms of encryption. Regarding the software, i just purchased the latest version of dMC today.

Chances are they are protected files. Please refer to this forum section: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/forumdisplay.php?f=52

And are their extensions .mp4 or .m4a ?

Can you play your mp4/m4a files in a player besides iTunes, like Winamp? If you can't, then the files weren't unprotected properly. If iTunes won't even play the song, then the file is corrupt.

Encrypted rather than corrupted perhaps?

True, but mabye he tried to remove the encryption but the program didn't remove the encryption fully, resulting in a corrupted file

iTunes wouldn't play it either then, would it?
