I use the registered version dbpoweramp r11:
When converting from MP3 to WMA9.1 I loose the lyrics,
Then same when converting from WMA9.1 to MP3 the lyrics are lost

Dose dbpoweramp conversion only handle MP3 v1.1 tags?
If dbpoweramp support tags for MP3 v2.4 or v2.3 tags, and if so, how do I configure the converter to handle the v2.x tags?

Thanks

As per my last post: I loose ID3 v2.x tags when doing MP3->WMA and vice versa.

After further study here are the result:
when ripping from CD with ID tag properties set to ID3 v1.1 & v2.3
the music will only have tags in the v1.1 fields. and v2.3 fields are empty.

when ripping from CD with ID tag properties set to ID3 v2.3
the v1.1 fields and v2.3 fields are empty.

I used JJ MP3 renamer tool to see tags for each version.
I pretty competant that JJ MP3 is working correctly to the extent
that I use it to batch edit my file and add ID3 v2.3 tags (lyrics) and
both jetaudio and WM seems to like it.

The mouse over info of file show ID3 v2.3 tags.
jetaudio and WM sees the ID3 v2.3 tags.

I'm pretty stump at this point.
2 or the 3 software I use to verify dbpoweramp seems to be satisfied with the tags generated by dbpoweramp (album, artist, track *), the basic.

In anycase dbpoweramp conversions seems to loose lyrics and pictures when doing conversions. In short I would like to be able to convert WMA with all the tags including lyrics, album picture to MP3s and viceversa.

Thanks

Those are non standard tags, so they cannot be preserved.

I believe dbpoweramp supports up ID3 v2.3

according to http://www.id3.org/develop.html
Lyrics frames are described in sections 4.9 and 4.10
Pictures frames are described in sections 4.15

I am pretty competant that they are a reliable source.
Thanks

Non-standard across formats is what she means. Since every format implements these tags differently, they aren't supported, for now anyway.

I tried to Convert MP3 320VBR-> MP3 128Kb and still loose ID tags for V2.x

Verified the tags before the conversion with the sample tool from id3.org with a test file that contained lyrics. (Tool showed embed lyrics with the correct ID information)
After the conversion, the tags for V2.x appears to be corrupted. (No readable data could be parsed from the tags).

It's not part of the standard set of tags which are supported, that's why.
