Does dBpowerAMP CD Writer support burning CD-Text to my CD?
No, dBpowerAMP CD Writer does not currently support writing CD-Text.

I'm considering buying cdpoweramp. This topic hasnt been updated in 3 years. Do you mean to tell me dbpoweramp still doesnt support cd text? All those other bells and whistles but no cd text??!!!! Talk about basic.
I will buy the product only if it does support cd text.

I have the same question. You are dealing with so many details of appearance of the sound, and you don't pay any attention on cd text. You think that reading the titles of the songs is of no importance. This is the main reason I don't use this cdwriter ever, though I have bought it and it is conveniant in other ways since I am using the mcc system to keep my music. But I think that reading the song titles wherever you can is a must!!!

LtData - I can understand that you may be a bit annoyed at the terse way the question of CD-Text was raised here, but I have to say, as a hitherto very enthusiastic user and supporter of dBpa, I was really, really disappointed when I came to use CD Writer today. I have just upgraded, and, admittedly without checking, just thought that CD-Text would be in the product by now. Combining that with the fact that gapless recording cannot be done track-by-track, or not as it were, I find myself with the unenviable prospect of upgrading my Nero software. I now wish I had not upgraded dBpa, and had put the small amount of money involved towards a Nero upgrade. As I said, I am bitterly disappointed.

The converters are great, but I will be able to do most of what I want with Nero, and as find that I still have to use that stuff I guess dBpa will get less and less use. You are, unfortunately, probably going to lose a customer. I have to wonder how many others will go too.

I too am dissapointed
I upgraded today and stupidly assumed that what is a pretty basic function was indeed missing

Can you put this in the next release?

I have used Nero in the past but it is now so bulky and slow to load that I was looking for something that started quickly and was easy to use (which CD writer is)
As for the ripper I cannot live without it

come on guys make dpoweramp the program it should be

Captains Log - September 2012.

I too purchased this cd burning program based on the great reviews from bloggers and reviewers. Since then, my compilation cd burns list songs as Track 1, Track 2, etc. I never would have thought that this so called sophisticated program would overlook such a basic feature as identifying with CD Text, the songs you've assembled.

Do I need to return to Nero?

Can you tell me as of this date, is there an update/upgrade available which incorporates CD-Text that will make the program useful instead of useless?

Captains Log - March 2013

Just thought I would check in to this forum to see if anything further has been added to the question why dbPoweramp CD Writer does not support CD-Text. Hmmm, no progress it seems. I checked in because after using with great satisfaction the batch converter and ripper, I have to remember to steer away from dbP CD Writer because of this glaring omission. If I could request from any of the specialists on this forum - Spoon, Christina, LtData who could spend a moment to explain further than a curt NO To CD-Text Support, the reason WHY?. Is it a massive programming undertaking? Does it conflict with the programmed burning process? Why is dbP content with a Fair grading instead of an Excellent grading. Can the VIP's of this product please explain to the many disappointed consumers their refusal to implement this feature in the CD Writer program. Why do I have to keep taking my ripped dbP projects over to Nero to get the job done properly?

I too am disappointed after buying the product. I assumed such a simple feature would be included. I find the support on the product to be very unfriendly with short curt responses. The response from the support person(s) seems to be annoyed having to answer any questions would leads me to think it's a one-man show (the owner) who is responding. There must be a legal reason that the CD text feature has not been added. It's not rocket science here... What's disturbing is that the CD text question was asked June 2005 - 8 years ago! I guess shame on me for not researching the product further before buying. Buyer beware. I encourage all of you reading this to go to social media sites like Facebook, YouTube and other recording forums to spread the word about this simple feature not being included so that they don't end up in the same cul de sac we find ourselves in...

CD Writer is not the product you purchased, it is a free program (which requires a dBpoweramp install, any version, even the free one), to quote from the page:

CD Writer is free for all users of dBpoweramp R13 or above (any version, free or registered), please note limited support can be offered for CD Writer if there are incompatibilities with your CD/DVD/BluRay drive, CD Writer is now effectively unsupported.

CD Writer uses a bought in component, the company who created that component has since gone out of business, so we are unable to change CD writer without writing most of it from scratch.

Should we kill the program so people will be happier? it seems we cannot have a free CD writing program (with the features that it has), as this is not good enough.

What do you mean "still does not support". It never supported CD Text. It is a free program and any improvements to the program were ended long ago. According to spoon there is not any work going on to change this program and will not be in the future. So no matter how many times you check, it will "still not support" CD-Text. If CD-Text is important to you, it is clear that you should use a different CD writer.
