How do I covert mp3 files to MIDI?
You don't really.

MIDI is not an audio file type. A midi file is a collection of mathematical functins used in conjunction with a soundbank and reprodcued by a synthetizer. The soudn yuo hear is totally dependent on the synthetizer and soundbank you have on your pc.

There are a few programs which will approximate the audio of a wav to midi. Th results are very, very poor. Basiclaly you'll be getting a sketchy melody line, and you'll choose the instrment you wish to have it reporoduced. It will sound like an amateurish attempt at picking a tune one-fingered on a cheap kiddy keyboard.

A couple of programs: http://widisoft.com/ and http://www.intelliscore.net/ .
