How do i take a MP3 song created with 16 bit, 192kbps, 44 KHZ, CD quality and
convert it to 24 bit while still retaining the CD quality?

I saw a posting from spoon that explained something about this but cant find
it now.

thanks,

My own recommendation would be not to do this. You will not improve the quality of your 16 bit mp3 file by converting it to 24 bit. At best you could end up with a larger 24 bit file that would be larger in size but would not be any better in quality than the original 16 bit mp3. dAP's 24 bit dsp would be the tool to enhance the sound of the 16 bit mp3 track on your new 24 bit sound card. If your were to rip a file directly from cd to 24 bit mp3 then I think that, everything else being equal, you would have a better sounding file (on a 24 bit sound card) compared to the same track ripped to 16 bit mp3 setting.

Best wishes,

xoas,

Thanks for the info, guy, I'll keep that in mind and won't waste time trying to
convert.
