no file access

After i loaded all my music files into my collection i cant access the music folder on my hard drive any more it just crashes explorer. If i explore the folder it lists folders as empty but still shows file size. can any one help please as i need to back-up for a f&r

Can you tell us something about what error message you are getting if any, how you are trying to access these files, what kind of format the files are in, what kind of program you are using to play these files? Have you considered whether these files are somehow assigned to a user other than yourself?

If you cannot access the files by surfing Start>My Computer>etc. try to see if your File finder can locate them or try to see if one or more music players will allow you to play any of these files.
