Hi

If I have a 320 kbs MP3 and want to change it to a 128 .ogg how much quality will I lose and how will it compare to a .ogg which I ripped of a CD (quality 128 kbs)

Thanks to anyone who shades some light into my question.

It is dependant on a number of things - type of music, Mp3 Encoder used, etc, etc..

The only way to see is to try both ways listen for a difference.

But there shouldn't be a great difference??? The mp3 is FHg or sometimes Xing (newer versions). Type of music mostly rock.

Transcode to OGG and listen.
If you can detect a difference, there's a loss - if not - there's no loss.
People tend to confuse to two kind of losses - the analyser loss and the hearable loss.
The analyser loss can be detected by anyone, but is virtually completely irrelevant.
The hearable loss is what matters, and it varies much from person to person.
If you can hear a loss, there IS a loss, if you cannot hear a loss, there IS no loss.
Stop worrying about what others can hear or claim they can hear.
