I am taking 3 or 4 Music CD compilations (WAVE), converting them to MP3, adding titles, then burning them using dbCD Writer. Each Cd has 15 tracks, 01-15. After getting them in perfect order 01 thru 45, I burn the CD.
When I put into a player, I only get say 18 tracks not 45. The reason is that Players pick up on the original track nos. so under trk 30 for instance, I have 3 Track * 12's and 3 song titles, one picked up from each original CD.
How can I prevent this? Perhaps changing the format to [track][album] only? I have been using [artist][artist][track]. I want the players to show tracks 01 thru 45 just as it did when I burned them in db CD Writer. The player I am using for now is DVD player that can play CD-R in MP3 and it works perfectly if I only put the tracks in right.
Your programs are great but with a steep learning curve (for me). After many hours I am almost there if I can solve this problem. Thanks

Are you creating an audio CD or a cdrom of MP3s? Are you attempting to create a MP3 CDROM with duplicate file names in a single folder as this will be definitely a problem.

I normally organise my MP3 CDs using [Album]/[Track number] [Track Title].mp3 which should prevent duplicates appearing in the same folder.

Thanks Wayne. I am making CD, Mp3 compilations. Source files are from Music Cd's in WAV format. The Origin CD's contain Trk nos. like 01 to 16. They are perhaps coming up on my new MP3's, screwing up the order.
I will now try your suggested format.
All I really want to see on the CD is Track Number, Title. I think the Track Number is automatically put in by the player? If so all I need is Track Title.

Sorry Wayne, I tried your album, trk no,trk title format. I also tried [Artist] only. In both cases, tracks were out of order, even in db CD Writer before and after I burned the CD. I even tried deleting Track numbers(in Win Explorer prior to sending to CD Writer), that did not work either. If there were just a way to move the track order up or down in CD Writer(in MP3), that would do it. Perhaps one cannot make a compilation from a compilation. I give up for now. Should anyone out there see a way to set me straight, I would GREATLY appreciate it.

When I initially created my first MP3 CDROM I found that they weren't being played in the order that I expected. I quickly realised that the player was playing them alphabetically which is why I prefix all the files with the track number and organise them in album folders.

The order that the files appear in dCW doesn't necessarily mean that they will play in that order it depends on your player.

Do you get to see all the tracks if you examine the cdrom in Windows Explorer? What order do they appear in?

Thanks Wayne. You hit the nail on the head. I have learned the same thing. In short, set up a file in explorer for EACH CD you want to burn, check and double check that each file is in the right order. Third, make sure you have sent the file to the right folder by checking Power Pack AND Rip with options (under burn). Last, check the order again as you insert into CD Writer. Then it all works. BTW, do you know which controls where the files go and also the [Artist] etc. is it the power pack(rocket) or the Burn with options or both?

dCW requires that you set up details/options for each type of CD you wish to create. One of these options decides how dCW will name the individual files/tracks on the CD which is similar to the option available within Audio CD Input. This option also lets dCW know how you would like the tracks organised based on the tag information present in the individual files. If the tag information is absent or incorrect the tracks could be organised as you expected.
