I could use some help sorting this out. I tunes can retrieve metadata and rip an intire cd while CD Poweramp CD Ripper is still retrieving the metadata. I thought it might be related to using an older version of CD Ripper with OS 10.12.4, so I uprgraded to the newest version of Music Converter (16.1) and the problem persists.
It's so slow that it renders the software virtually unusable.
Any thoughts or ideas on what might be causing this and how to correct it?
Thanks in advance.

Try unchecking the providers under the options menu and try one provider at a time to see which one is slow for you.

Since upgrading to R16.2, I have issues with my LiteOn IHAS124-14 DVD-RW internal drive.
Metadata retrieval takes 3-4 minutes to retrieve metadata if I have the CD-ISRC option ticked, as opposed to 15-20 seconds with CD-ISRC option un-ticked.

This has probably been suggested before, but how about start ripping sectors from the CD immediately (perhaps into a disk buffer) so the time spent retrieving (and correcting, too often) metadata can overlap the actual disk I/O. Once the metadata is changed, it could be applied to the already read data, and the remainder of the disk (if not already finished as it often would be with AccurateRip).

Thank you all for your replies. Spoon, I can't seem to locate the providers under the option menu. This is what I have available:
Thanks for your help.

Since Juli 2016 AMG has discontinued its service. (https://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?36067-AMG-Metadata-discontinuation) So it isn't slow, it's off.
