Product Registration and Settings

Hello All, Please forgive my ignorance but I just purchased and installed "Reference" version this evening and am one step above an artichoke concerning my knowledge of the program and the Forum. During the installation I did not see any opportunity to register the product. Is there a registration process and, if so, can someone enlighten me? Looking briefly through the program I didn't see any "Settings" option. Did I just miss it?
Is there a good "Guide" available to using the software? Thanks
