Hello there!
I´m pretty desperate, cuz the converter does not work anymore: it still counts the elapsed time but that´s all. What it more it can´t be cancelled and *blooper**blooper**blooper**blooper*s up the whole system so that I cannot even restart the computer but have to "pull the plug"! I´m using XP now. Can anybody help me?

Either ripping CD to mp3 (lame) or also wave-files from the harddisc to mp3...

Sounds like a computer hardware problem (perhaps overheating) - no program should be able to lockup XP.
