Mozilla 1.0 has been finally released!!!

Incase you didn't know, Mozilla is a free, open source, standards compliant browser that is the development project for Netscape. (Netscape is based on Mozilla)

Mozilla undergoes major changes frequently, only within a month or two after Netscape 7 is released, (will be based on Mozilla 1.0) if you're a Mozilla user, you'll be thinking "oh that old thing!" because Mozilla evolves so quickly.

A great browser, is my main browser too, has some very nice features such as popup blocking that blocks only unrequested popups, requested popups will still work. Performance is very good too, rendering well written pages perfectly, I actually prefer the way Mozilla renders most pages. Check it out an finally replace Internet Exploder for good!

I've been using it all morning, and I'm generally impressed. Certainly looks nice, anyway :)

And unlike past releases, it is much faster, probably because a lot of the debug code has now been removed.

I've got Mozilla 1.0, and while it differs very little from Netscape 7, I still like it. I also must say, however, that I use Opera far more than any other browser, because it's simple, fast, and it works. It's also got quite a few nice features that can't be found anywhere else, as well as most, if not all, of the "extras" from other browsers.

Alternatively, tell me where I'm wrong and why I should be using Mozilla instead. :supersmil

Mozilla is free (no ad banners) It is not linked to Cydoor which is a common form of spyware. It doesn't screw up as many pages - better rendering engine Supports more platforms, its versions don't differ across different operating systems eg. the Linux version of Opera has a pretty different interface. Has multiple user profile support Better pop up blocker which will block unrequested popups only

I like Opera's interface and how light on resources it is, but the engine is the main reason I don't use it, it screws up the alignment on just about everything, like VB bulletin boards just like this one. If Opera 7 lives up to hype, its engine may not be so weak and IMO, might be worth using.

You know, that's really quite a good point. I'll go check out version 1.1, I guess.
