Hello,

I've encoded a lot of CDs under OS X, some have a ":" in the file name, and under windows I have problems.

Please how can I replace the ":" that are in the filenames with a ";" ?

Thank you

Eric

Is it only the filename or do any of the tags contain the ":"?

If it is possible, replace ":" with ";" in both filename and tags.

Thanks,

Eric

Both contain ":"

Thanks,

Which tag contains the ":" and can you provide a filename example?

... also, can you describe your setup? Where is the audio library located?

Here is a file containing a ":" : Al di Meola-Casino-05-Fantasia Suite for Two Guitars: Viva la Danzarina-Guitars of the ....flac

My library file is located in ~/Music/MPD/

My setup ? Please be more precise....

OK, Fantasia Suite for Two Guitars: Viva la Danzarina looks like the title, is that correct?

What I am thinking is:
ID Tag Update utility codec >> Manipulation >> Word / Character Replacement >> replace : with ;

then, use the Arrange Audio utility codec to rebuild the filename, from the artist, track, album and title tags.

However, I am not sure now if dBpoweramp Music Converter for the Mac has the utility codecs. Can you confirm?

There is also a simple solution to this problem using MP3Tag for the Mac, but it requires running MP3Tag under Wine, something I am not familiar with as I am a Windows user.

... and if anyone knows of a bulk renamer for the Mac, then this would fix the filename issue.

The mac version of dBpoweramp does not have Utility codecs.

dBpoweramp created these files?

Yes it does... With batch converter at least
