Please can you confirm, is your Windows 7 Ultimate, 32-bit or 64-bit and did you install it to the default location?

What anti-virus/security software are you running, if any?

If you disable McAfee, does Batch Converter still crash?

If you disable McAfee, does Batch Converter still crash?

Yes, even after disabling the antivirus and switching off the internet connection, and then installing, it crashes.

Do you have all the latest Windows Updates installed?

Yes, I'm pretty sure I do because every few weeks, I get the message saying do not power-off as updates are being installed.

You are clicking a folder or a single file? it crashes when you click that, or when you click 'Convert' button?

Probably worth running the standard diagnostic checks on your system. Try running the System File Checker tool and Windows 7 Disk Check (chkdsk). To be on the safe side, I would backup beforehand.

It crashes irrespective of whether I choose a single song file or a folder. The minute I click on say, E drive, the message appears.

The item crashing is the mp3 tag reader, to clarify if you select an empty folder it does not crash?

Are you able to isolate a single file which causes the crash, by putting it in this folder.

If you can email the file to us please:

Thank you.
I think this way beyond MY scope. I will request the young man who lives in the neighbouring apartment to help me out with this.

It crashes as soon as I click on, for example, E drive.

I apologise, but I'm not able to understand what it is you want me to do when you say "isolate a single file which causes the crash, by putting it in this folder".

On the e drive, do you have audio in the root of the drive? (not in any folders)

I could send you ONLY one file {Vikas Gokarna(after conversion)} as the other one (4th October2015.mp3) is more than 25MB and Gmail isnt allowing me to attach the file.

I sent the file to the email ID: <edited> on the 26th of October, 2015.

Thanks.

The 2 files checkout ok, so it is something else. If you start Batch Converter, it does not crash until you click on something? if you select the drive C from within Batch Converter, does it crash?

Just tried it out. If C drive has no mp3 files and I click on it, it does not crash. Once I put an mp3 file into C drive and then click, it crashes!

Try uninstalling dBpoweramp then resinstalling, this issue suggests either the mp3 decoder is corrupted, or something on your system is interfering with it.
