Hello, I have an audio file encoded in .aac format, and I've used the dbpoweramp converter program to convert it to mp3. The thing is, the track is 14 hours long in .aac, but when I convert it, a variety of things happen. First of all, the program doesn't let me know when it reaches 100%, so it can go on for a while. If it goes on longer than needed, it makes the track longer than needed. In one case, my 14 hour track turned out to be over 50 hours. So I tried again, watching the converter to make sure I finished once it reached 100% complete. The program said 100%, so I closed it. When I opened the recording as an mp3 file, it was longer than the original (like 14 hours and 20 minutes), but also, it didn't end at the same time. So in the .aac version it ended at say 14:15:00, but in the mp3 version, the recording stopped at 14:30:00, and it didn't even reach the end. Thanks for any help.

If you install foobar2000, it can play the file at the correct length?

I don't need foobar, do I? I can play it on Windows media player and once it's mp3 I can play it on iTunes or Windows movie maker.

Spoon is suggesting that you test whether foobar can play the file showing the correct length to try to get at what's causing the problem. Not that you have to switch to foobar2000 permanently.

Oh thanks, but I think now it was just a 1-time problem. Hasn't happened since.
