Hello,
I was wondering what the value which the silence trimming function uses as its detection threshold is. So when we say "Silence is any value below -XXdB", is XX the peak of the sound file or is it the mean amplitude of the sound file?

Plus, how can I properly cite this program on my method section? I need the information like,
Author. (Date).
Title of Software or Computer Program (Version no.) [Any identifier] => which I already know.
City, state: Publisher. => which I only know about publisher.

Thanks!!

It is peak below that value.

It is peak below that value.

Wait, I got a little confused.

So are you saying that the "peak of the noise portion" should be below some threshold value or
that the peak of the entire sound file is first detected and some ratio of it (-XX dB) is set as the threshold value and below that value is considered noise?

Thanks!

Correct.
